Great Value... Great product

Comments about MXL 990/993 Studio Package:

Okay I have been recording for some time now. I've seen top of the line and low end garbage. Here is a product that delivers at a great value. Know what your buying and what to expect of it and you won't be diappointed. This is a product that gives you performance that you would expect to pay more for. No it isn't top of the line but with some adjustments you can get great, close to studio performance from this product. I do recomend it to the buyer who knows what to do with it. Thanks Guys Sandar

An excellent pair of condensers.

Comments about MXL 990/993 Studio Package:

These mics are perfect for just about anything. Drums, Guitars, Vocals, anything! A little EQ is needed of course as with most mics, but once they're set, they sound awesome. As with any condenser, you do need a silent room or it will pick up a fan blowing from across the room. Overall these mics are exceptionally good at a great price!

Comments about MXL 990/993 Studio Package:

I bought this combo a few years back, it's an excellent quality entry level set of mics. The 990 is heavy and I recommend getting the matching shock mount, which does not come with this package. The sound is very clear and both mics are quite sensitive. I use them both for recording drums and they both make great overhead mics. The 993 is descent for bass drums if you have it about a foot away, too close may be too punchy. Also the 990 is great for vocals, I'm not a great singer but can definitely hear the quality and precision. MXL makes really good products and is starting to get the respect they deserve.
