I'm very much a beginner at guitar, and while I have an electric guitar (one of the budget Jackson Rhoads) that I like to practice on, and that I used during a beginning guitar class at school, but I've been wanting a small-ish acoustic guitar lately. I'm short and have small hands, and while I can play full-bodied guitars fine, I definitely prefer something lighter and thinner, especially since I'm used to my electric guitar, so when I found this in store today, it was perfect. I liked the feeling of the strings and the sound it produced, and I especially like how easy it is for me move up and down the neck. It's constructed well, according to a friend who knows way more about guitars than I do, and it's just a surprisingly solid little guitar given the price. I don't regret the purchase at all!

I bought this guitar for my eight year old son. I wish I would have bought him a full size guitar, as 3/4 is a bit small. The guitar is well-built and very attractive. It doesn't sound great, but it's pretty new, and maybe it will start sounding better with age? It needed a lot of work being set up, as the action was terrible. If you are buying this for a child to see if they're interested in Guitar, I would just get one of the cheaper smaller guitars. I am sure they can't be a whole lot worse than this one, and you can save quite a bit.

Comments about Luna Guitars Limited Safari Muse Mahogany 3/4 Size Acoustic Guitar:

I have four children in the house so I need a durable guitar. I am also 5ft, with tiny hands so this size of guitar was perfect for me. I love this guitar. It feels comfortable and has a great sound. It has a beautiful look which is slightly darker brown instead of the red seen in photo. It has also survived a couple of bangs from my kids so that's great. Stays in tune, easy to play.

Comments about Luna Guitars Limited Safari Muse Mahogany 3/4 Size Acoustic Guitar:

This guitar is great! It sounds just as good as the really expensive mahogany guitars I've played. The delivery came the day after it shipped which I was surprised. I also really like the moon fret markers. They give the guitar an artistic look it. I highly recommend this guitar!

Comments about Luna Guitars Limited Safari Muse Mahogany 3/4 Size Acoustic Guitar:

My 4' 11" inch 12 year old daughter wants to learn. We have a couple of full size, but this is much easier for her to handle while learning to play.
The sound is okay, not as rich as the full sized guitars. The guitar itself is beautifully made, and fun to play on.

      Good Camp/RV Guitar

Comments about Luna Guitars Limited Safari Muse Mahogany 3/4 Size Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this guitar to use for travel in my RV; I wanted an acoustic guitar with a smaller footprint than my Martin dreadnaught, and I also wanted one that I could consider a "campfire guitar". This guitar fulfills those needs for me fairly well. I have found that it holds tune "OK", but not "great". I find that as I move up the fretboard the notes tend to go a bit sharp, so I have to be careful how hard I press between the frets. I have had some issues with holding tune with the strings, but I've addressed that by tightening the tuners more.

What I really liked about this 3/4 size guitar was that it seemed to have the best overall sound (midrange and lower notes) when I compared it with the Yamaha and Baby Martin guitars of the same size in my local Guitar Center store, and I played them all quite a bit to come to this conclusion. (In the end, I suspect this is due to the darker tone rendered by the mahogany construction versus the spruce soundboards of the Yamaha and Martin.) The fact that it was also less expensive than the other options for 3/4 size guitars was a bonus, although having to purchase a case narrowed that price difference. (Both the Baby Martin and the Yamaha come with cases.)

Overall I'm satisfied with this guitar for the purpose I want--a camp guitar for my RV. Will it replace my Martin dreadnaught for performing--no way! But, I don't have to worry about this with my travels in the RV, and I can feel comfortable using it in conditions I'd consider questionable for the Martin.

I am a private music instructor who has tiny hands and is 5'3". I had been using a standard sized Yamaha guitar for years and loved the sound but found it very difficult to stretch for certain chords. This guitar is so much easier! I enjoy playing it because it fits my size much better. It has a nice sound although I wish it was a little fuller, think I might change the strings to achieve that.

Comments about Luna Guitars Limited Safari Muse Mahogany 3/4 Size Acoustic Guitar:

Picked this guy up when planning a road trip and didn't want to bring my expensive Takamine acoustic. Went in expecting to purchase a Yamaha 3/4 but this guitar was on sale and I was quite blown away by the rich tone compared to the more expensive yamahas. Solid construction good intonation and doesn't sound floppy like most budget travel guitars do. In my opinion the only travel guitar in the store that came close was the little Martin but since it was twice the price this was a no brainer. I like how the added designs are minimal and stick to the moon theme as the brand name Luna implies. My only complaint would be it should have come with a gig bag or case I ended up spending nearly as much for a decent gig bag as I did on the guitar which is just silly for a guitar that is marketed for traveling musicians. Would definitely recommend it to someone looking for a traveler guitar or someone with smaller hands A+ to Luna for having a quality instrument at a great price!

Comments about Luna Guitars Limited Safari Muse Mahogany 3/4 Size Acoustic Guitar:

I did a prior review of this guitar shortly after buying it. Now that I've had it for a few months, I have a few more observations. I was quite frustrated with its constantly going out of tune, even during the process of playing a single song. I tightened the tuners about as far as I could (without stripping them), and it still kept going out of tune. This was frustrating to say the least. Otherwise, the tone was reasonable, although not as full as a dreadnaught size guitar (no surprise with a 3/4 size guitar), and I still think it has a fuller tone than the Baby Martin and the Yamaha 3/4 size guitars I checked side-by-side in Guitar Center.

However, once I finally changed the strings to a set of d'Addarios, it's holding tune just fine--even for several days at a time with my playing it.

Don't expect dreadnaught tone from it (after all, it's a 3/4 size guitar), but it's decent--and I like the compact size for a camp guitar and for travel. Also, because it's not an expensive guitar, I'm OK that it may get exposed to less than optimal temperatures and humidity.

I can easily recommend this as a practice guitar and a camp guitar--with the caveat that the strings are changed right away.

I bought this product along with a keyboard, and it was way better than the pedal that came with the keyboard, so I kept it. But within about a month, I noticed it started squeaking when pushed down. I didn't have the receipt to return it, so while researching options, I found that someone said they took it apart and oiled it. This actually did work! The squeaking has stopped, but if you aren't someone that has the time or productivity to take apart a piece of machinery and oil it, then don't waste $30. Buy something more expensive, as it probably will last longer.

I don't know a lot about guitars so I won't be able to give a lot of details on sound comparisons and such. This guitar was for my 11 year old daughter. We knew it was a 3/4 but it is smaller than we pictured. Even so, it fits her perfectly (she is about 70 lbs and almost 5'). The guitar is beautiful. It seems to stay in tune pretty well. We live in Alaska and the guitar made it here in a week or less.
