Description
Ludwig designed the Classic Oak series of drums to be powerful, definitive and, most of all, unique. Ludwig’s proprietary shell formula consists of a 5-ply, 6.5mm shell combination of a 3-ply maple core with a ply of American red oak on the inner and outer plies for added projection. This is all made using a proprietary RFST molding process which utilizes historic bladder molds—the same ones that shells for legends like Ringo Starr and John Bonham—combined with a modern adhesive and bonding process that ensure a perfect seal between each ply that makes for the most durable and acoustically perfect shell on the market.
