Get legendary Line 6 amp and effect models on your iOS device with pristine, pro-quality audio. Sonic Port provides an incredible 110dB of dynamic range on the guitar input, to capture your full range of expression and works with GarageBand, the free Mobile POD app, and much more. Learn, Jam and Record with Hit Songs
Sonic Port works with the award-winning Jammit app-the first to let you play along with real, multi-track master recordings from major artists. Jammit isolates individual audio tracks within original master recordings, so you can learn, jam and record along with your favorite songs as played by the original artists.

You can isolate your instrument from the track for closer scrutiny, loop the track for extended practice or slow it down to a comfortable pace for learning. With Sonic Port as the guitar interface, Jammit loads perfectly matched Line 6 tones for a variety of its jam tracks, automatically changing the sound when needed as the song plays.

Plug into iOS Creativity
Sonic Port makes it easy to connect your guitar or bass to your iOS device and start making music. Simply plug your instrument into the 1/4" guitar input, launch GarageBand, the free Line 6 Mobile POD app, or another CoreAudio app, and start playing. Pro specs-up to 24-bit/48kHz audio quality throughout, and 110dB dynamic range on the guitar input-translate to full, powerful guitar tones.

Sonic Port also transforms your iPod touch, iPhone or iPad into a complete mobile studio. Track keyboards, mixers, CD players and other iOS devices using the 1/8" stereo line input. Plug in your favorite headphones and hear your audio in stunning clarity. You can even connect powered studio monitors via the 1/4" mono/stereo guitar/line-level output.

Perform Live while Traveling Light
With Sonic Port and your iOS device, you can take the exact same tones from your home studio to the stage. Dial in your Mobile POD presets in the studio, then use Sonic Port and your iOS device to replace a heavy, cumbersome pedal board when you perform live.

Simply connect Sonic Port between your guitar and your amp using standard 1/4" cables-then use the Mobile POD app to instantly recall your whole effects chain for every song in your set list. It's the easiest way to get the exact same tones every time.

History of not working

By Kelly Rose

from Carollton, TX

Comments about Line 6 Sonic Port:

Purchased this device in December 2013, but had a free-climbing fall that broke my elbow, so only got to use it once. Pretty cool little interface; and made it convenient to play while my wife is sleeping with some good electronic tones and a nice set of headphones. Just recovering enough to play now after a few surgeries, so I connect it up and what does the mobile pod application on my ipad read "Line 6 Device not found." I check all of the cable disconnecting and reconnecting to ensure all is secure. I even update my ipad and uninstall/reinstall the line 6 mobile pod application - and still the same error. I test all of my other cables in the equation; and they work fine on my gear. Hmmm..... I do some internet searched and low and behold this is very common on these devices. Forums read they say it is the patch cable that connects from the Sonic Port to the ipad. Yep its a proprietary cable that doesn't work. I contact Line 6 to get this cable replaced; and am told I have to buy one for $25. So for a device I bought for a $100; and played only once I have to spend 25% of the cost to make it work a second time. Save your time and money; and don't buy this product. Line 6 = cheap and poor customer service.

Beware - cable is the weak link

By Tom Cliff

from Granville, OH

Comments about Line 6 Sonic Port:

Sound quality of this gadget is fine. Very good in fact. The problem is that the 30 pin cable is a weak link in the design. Mine failed with very light usage within a few months of purchase. I have checked the Line 6 Support web site, and it seems like this is a common complaint. I wish that I had checked sooner... Have a support ticket into Line 6. I'll report back once I get an answer.

this thing is awesome

By Kory Vering

from Cornlea, NE

Comments about Line 6 Sonic Port:

This thing is great when you dont want to drag big amps along and can plug into the pa direct. That and its a great way to get a ton of sounds from different amps without buying all the amps. Could sit here and play with this thing for hours!!!!

Small but Huge

from Harlingen, Texas

Comments about Line 6 Sonic Port:

I purchased the Sonic Port just before Christmas of 2013. My main stage is at church with a praise/worship band. Sound staff denied all amplifiers on stage to minimize stage noise bleeds. The stage also looks much cleaner and the visual (TV) staff really see a huge difference. However, the band now required effects; such as pedal boards and multiple stomp boxes. Then came the Sonic Port and my I-Pad. I have a huge selection of tones at my finger tip. Many tones I simply name (save) by song title. This helps due to some songs requiring two or three tones throughout the arrangement. I gave the Sonic Port 4 Stars due to limited selection of effects. Although there are more than enough amps and cabs, I believe the master creators could make more effects as well. Perhaps the master creators could also inform how the foot petals (Wah and Volume) function.

Falls a bit short

By Kyle

from Chicago, IL

Comments about Line 6 Sonic Port:

My experience wasn't that great. Tones were ok, but I experienced some pops, clicks and distortion. All of that could be due to my iPad and the monitors I was running it through. However, based on what I was hearing, I still could not justify the cost of the unit to keep experimenting. One big let-down is that the ?" stereo line-in was not a straight thru signal, it actually ran through the amp models/rigs, thus distorting the output signal. Maybe there is a setting to change this that I overlooked, but, if not, it makes it less versatile for playing along with a song you're trying to practice. So, the search continues for a practice solution and alternative to setting up my entire rig every time.
