    Not too shabby

    By DaGreatDennis

    from Kittanning, PA

    Comments about MicroKORG Synthesizer/Vocoder:

This little guy is amazing. It has some really cool sounds and the possibilities are endless. However, if you are a rock band and are looking for something with straight piano or organ sounds as well as synth sounds, I wouldn't recommend this. It has some great sounds, but none are very simple and straight forward. SO MANY FUNCTIONS!!!

Big things come in small packages!!!

    By whyplayanythingelse?

    from CA

    Comments about MicroKORG Synthesizer/Vocoder:

The microkorg is a great synth that has many sounds perfect for any genre (it has the same sound engine as the Korg MS-2000). AND you can completely customize the sound of your choice in a couple of minutes! The microkorg is easy to use, and would be great for a first time synth user, or a veteran looking to get great custumizable sounds. When using the microkorg, you'll notice that the keys are slightly smaller than a full size keyboard, but they are definitely not hard to hit, and you will get used to them after using the microkorg for about 10 min. The sounds that come out this synth are AMAZING! You can create any sound, and the easy to use arpeggiater helps out a lot. It comes with basic waveforms to edit sounds: saw, square, triangle, sin... This synth is a great size and makes it extremely portable and easy to use for shows...basically it is only limited by the user, so go out and buy one today and start experimenting! It is actually unbeatable for the price, so it is also a GREAT value.

    The MicroKorg

    Comments about MicroKORG Synthesizer/Vocoder:

The MicroKorg is a great little synthesizer/vocoder for any beginner or pro. It has a wide variety of incredible sounds that go along with whatever style of music you are in to. It has 8 different effects, 128 programs, and an awesome 8-band vocoder(which is great), and it has a great price. Trust me, this is a great synth if your are just messing around at home or playing with band, i definately reccomend buying The MicroKorg.

A great all around synth (and fun to play with!)

    By Evan K.

    from Albuquerque. NM

    Comments about MicroKORG Synthesizer/Vocoder:

I love this little thing! The keys are rather small (as everyone pretty much knows) but I control it with my QS8.2 so I don't really care about it. Tap tempo would have been nice, as the Micron has it. Editing is easy once you understand the interface, and the sound is great. I was expecting to be able to use the vocoder for lyrics, but it is a little difficult to hear them, so don't plan on that. I would certainly buy it, it is worth the cash!

    Comments about MicroKORG Synthesizer/Vocoder:

I love this little synth, I've had mine for years and it just keeps performing and performing. It's been through many shows and always ends back in my studio being used constantly. Patch A13 and A14 are the infamous patches that will sound good with virtually and application. With all the different genres I make this synth never lets me down. If you're looking into buying it, just buy it. You won't regret, the guys at Korg never lets you down.

    Big Help for the uninteresting

    By Frankenstein

    from Lexington NC

    Comments about MicroKORG Synthesizer/Vocoder:

Playing instruments that cost over $100 for me is taboo. So when my son bought it I said where is the rest of it. He was hoping for more polyphony. This little monster may unleash the other half of your brain. Possibility is endless. The vocoder is interesting with an acoustic guitar plugged in to it. It is worth the Money!

    Very Nice.

    By Amazingkeyboardist28

    from North Carolina

    Comments about MicroKORG Synthesizer/Vocoder:

This synth is a great synth for young electronica, or livetronica bands with a low budget, it's not as good as the Alesis ION exept for vocoder, if your looking for great sounds you can get it out of this little keyboard.

If you're deciding between paying your rent or buying this product. Buy this Synthesizer

    By Chris Keith

    from Columbus, OH

    Comments about MicroKORG Synthesizer/Vocoder:

I can tell you first hand, as a seasoned musician who's played all kind of keyboards, from the best to the worst, this device is worth it's weight in gold, and is 2nd to none in it's musical class. I have not been paid to do this and I'm not the type that writes reviews for anything. This actually goes to show exactly how impressed I am with this products performance. Don't delay buy this today and you will not want to put it down. Guaranteed.

Only if you need a vocoder too...

      By Joe

      from Mishawaka, IN

      Comments about MicroKORG Synthesizer/Vocoder:

I had one of these for about a year and it is a great little synth for the money. A lot of fun, decently powerful, and the controls are great. I would have recommended this to anyone for the price and features hands down, right up until I found the Xiosynth.. ( For the price, which is the same as the microKorg for the 49 key version (and cheaper for the 25 key). It blows it away in just about every conceivable category. The Xio doesn't have a vocoder though.. so if you REALLY need one you might consider going with the MicroKorg, otherwise I don't see why anyone would choose this over the Xio for the money. I recommend at least comparing the two before making a decision.

      Such a Powerful Little Synthesizer

      By Brandon Ryan _

      from Laurel, MD

      Comments about MicroKORG Synthesizer/Vocoder:

This was the very first synthesizer that I ever purchased, and man, am I glad I chose this one. I use it in a two-tier setup with a Korg x50. Not only does it have a large array of sounds (both retro and modern), but you can also create your own sounds, edit the preset ones, download a new sound bank off of Korg's website, etc.... Honestly, this keyboard can really do just about everything you could want it to. It is powerful for its size, it has MIDI input/output for easy recording, and even though it has nothing to do with its performance, the fake wood panelling on it's sides are just so incredibly charming. If I had one complaint, it would be that with some settings, you can only play one note at a time, which can be frustrating if you like the sound, but want to include chords into the piece. But only a few settings out of the 100+ are this way, so I see that as a very minor thing. I would highly recommend this synth.

      Great for girls!

      By Jess

      from Brooklyn, NY

      Comments about MicroKORG Synthesizer/Vocoder:

A few months ago, I had a real hard time trying to decide between the full sized MS2000 and the MicroKORG. I wound up with the MK and could not be happier. The keys are indeed tiny but if you are a female like me, you have probably got small hands which are ideal for playing a synth this size. Save yourself a few hundred dollars and get the Micro which has many, if not all of the same sounds & features. Also, if your sound is Hip Hop or Electronica this is especially perfect for you as it can really get low. I record many of my basslines with this synth and have received multiple jaw dropping reviews from listeners over some of the impressively low soundwaves it can produce. All in all, ladies, get the microKORG and you won't have to worry your pretty little face when the monthly bills arrive.

Connected everything, and went off on a two hour tour, This keyboard is awesome. The only thing I didn't like was the mini keys, but sounds..... Incredable, Put this through a amp or p.a. and I'm very happy with the purchase couldn't of asked for more out of this little guy. I can't wait to put my ddrums through it or my guitar. In a word way fun !!!

      Awesome Synth!!!

      By Jonah Day

      from Salt Lake City, UT

      Comments about MicroKORG Synthesizer/Vocoder:

I bought a Microkorg about 2 moths ago just as something to take with me on flights and stuff but it's turned out to be my favorite synth besides my Moog Voyager! It really sounds just like an analog synthesizer, Theres really no sound you could not make with this keyboard. All of the retrosynth patches are really nice. I must say as well it sounds AMAZING in unison with a saw and a square wave on each oscillator with the filter wide open and a little detuning. Very heavy sounding synth. I would encourage even the most experienced synthesists to buy this thing. Does sound quite a bit like a Moog which is really awesome considering its so inexpensive. Very awesome synth!!!

      from Flint, MI

      Comments about MicroKORG Synthesizer/Vocoder:

The MicroKORG is the best analog-modeled synth you can get without having to break the bank. With 128 user-rewritable programs and a built in vocorder there is no other synth that offers such a wide range of features for such a low price. I use it for my metal/industrial band and my techno side project as well. I have played on other synths but the MicroKORG dominates over the rest.

      Thank You Korg!

      By Evan

      from Boca Raton, FL

      Comments about MicroKORG Synthesizer/Vocoder:

This is my first synthesizer, and I did some searching around, looking for the best synth for the best price. I decided on the MicroKorg, and asked Alessandro cortini (The Keyboardist from Nine Inch NAils) about it, and he said it was great. I picked it up a week later, and I have been in love with my microkorg synth. A MUST BUY for any musician with the cash.

      A true professional synth!

      By Trystan

      from Boise, ID

      Comments about MicroKORG Synthesizer/Vocoder:

Bought this beautiful instrument a few weeks back and just can't stop playing with it!!! So many ways you can use it, the possibilities are endless as are the ways you can tweak the sounds. Its very easy to learn how to edit sounds despite how complicated it looks. I compared this KORG with other KORGS and they don't even come close. If you hate playing cheap hollow plastic feeling keyboards/synths there are no worries here. All the knobs and keys are tight, no unwanted wiggles. Also I've seen quite a few professional musicians using this synth. If you want a taste of what its capable of, listen to the band "The Antlers". The keyboard player uses this synth almost exclusively. Also if your into the retro/vintage looking instruments, this is for you...I mean c'mon, it has wood sides!!! It sounds great out of tube amps especially (as do all instruments), but I use a Fender Mini Twin-Amp for it for portability and its equally as good. So in closing, as hard as I try, I can't think of a single thing that I don't like on it! Play it and you will fall in love. Plays: Acoustic/Electric Guitar, Piano, Viola, Melodica, Mandolin, Drums Genre: Indie/Rock/Pop/Folk
