Overview

The CM-200 Clip-On Contact Microphone with 1/4" Jack from Korg can be attached to any surface that vibrates and generates pitch. Common applications include the bell of a brass or woodwind instrument, the bridge of a string instrument, or a guitar top. The microphone captures the vibrations and sends them to your tuner. The CM-200 Contact Microphone is helpful if the mic built into your tuner might have difficulty detecting the sound of your instrument, such as when you're practicing with a large acoustic group.

The CM-200 is comes with a cable that helps transmit sound efficiently, and is flexible. The connection between the mic and cable is durable, reducing the possibility of breakage. The clip opens up wide, providing sufficient space to attach to your instrument. The rubber inside the clip has been intelligently designed to provide a secure fit for attachment.

Cons

    Best Uses

    • Tuning your instrument

    Comments about Korg Contact Microphone:

Bought this to use with my Korg CA-40 tuner. As a flute and piccolo player, it's hard to tune oneself while everyone is warming up. Using a contact microphone is essential. Many contact mics fall off the piccolo (and some fall off the flute). This one has a divot on the upper part of the clamp and the lower part is rubber, so it's flexible. It stays securely on both the flute and piccolo. It would work just as well on any other band instrument too. Just don't go wrapping the contact mic around the tuner. The wires inside can break.

    Comments about Korg Contact Microphone:

I use this with a Korg TM-50, it works perfectly, and appears to be very accurate. I would definitely recommend this mic to go with the TM-50 for a more versatile tuning experience. I use both for tuning great highland bagpipes.

    Comments about Korg Contact Microphone:

The blurb on the website did not make it clear that this mic is intended for use with a tuner, not for performance.
