Description
The Klark Teknik DN100 V2 mono active direct box brings studio-quality sound to the stage. Its premium audio transformer and low-noise circuitry capture every nuance of your bass, keys or guitar with exceptional clarity and dynamic range. Bright LEDs confirm status of the -30dB pad, 48V phantom power and ground lift at a glance even on dark stages. Take your tone from studio to stage with the road-ready DN100 V2 direct box.
High-Quality Audio Transformer for Clarity and Dynamic Response
At the heart of the Klark Teknik DN100 V2 is a custom-wound audio transformer, selected after extensive listening tests to capture all the subtle tones and textures of your instrument. The transformer provides a balanced, isolated output over XLR, maintaining pristine audio quality even over long cable runs. Careful tuning of the transformer's frequency response and surrounding impedances ensures rich, musical sound. A high-pass filter removes ultralow frequencies that fall below the range of most instruments, preventing distortion or transformer saturation.
Dual-Input Impedances for Versatility
The DN100 V2 direct box offers two input impedances to match any source. A standard 1/4" TS input has an ultrahigh 1 mohm impedance, ideal for passive pickups on guitars, basses and other instruments. The XLR input features a lower 20k ohm impedance for line-level sources like keyboards, drum machines or audio interfaces. Whichever jack you use, the custom low-noise input circuit preserves your tone with wide dynamic range and headroom up to +10dBu.
Full Galvanic Isolation to Eliminate Noise
Ground loops between improperly grounded equipment can add nasty hum and buzz to your sound. The Klark Teknik DN100 V2 provides complete galvanic isolation between input and output to banish noise. An internal transformer isolates the power supply, while the ground-lift switch breaks the connection between input and output grounds. Used together, these two techniques guarantee quiet operation regardless of the grounding situation.
Tour-ready Construction to Withstand Abuse
The DN100 V2 direct box is built tough to handle the stresses of touring and live gigs. An extruded aluminum chassis provides exceptional protection for the sensitive electronics inside. Thick rubber corners act as bumpers while insulating the case from vibrations. The rugged construction keeps your tone clear night after night. Bright status LEDs are easily visible on stage, letting you confirm proper operation at a glance.
