Solid Feel and Action

This was my second 7-string guitar (after owning a Schecter Jeff Loomis V). I knew for a small fee that I would be getting a good instrument with a standard look, feel, action, and weight. Modifications are probably welcomed, such as pickup replacements and string gauge/type change. The bottom cut-away I felt collided at times with my fretting hand when reaching for those 7-string sweeps or legato runs. The pick-up selector is positioned in between the volume and tone knobs, a little lower, but may be problematic for some. Overall, it was a worthy buy for a solid piece of wood, and managed to apply a small discount too. It's purpose was to aid as a back-up 7-string, which it does.

Entry level

So 20 some years ago I started seeing 7 string guitars. At that point they were all fairly expensive (more than 200) I have always been a "bang for the buck" guy. But always had a secret want for one. Seeing this guy for 199 instantly made me open my wallet and pull out the 200. Anyway, i got it and took it home. Looks nice, very lightweight, pretty archtop. I soon realized that drop A chords sounded just like the new metal head junk! However! Up high the neck feels disgusting, don't know what it is, the action is good, frets all ring true, thin feel, etc. I believe it to be the extremely long scale length that makes it feel this way. Translation: feels slow for leads. Well this one will probably hang on the wall and not get played much. But if you were looking strictly for rythem in super low tuning I would give 5 stars! Unfortunately not my thing.

Okay so this is obviously a low end 7 string guitar but with that said it does the trick. The necks a little wider in the back then expected so I wouldn't say as fast playing but once you get it tuned and play it, it's just a fun guitar to mess around on and get your feet wet on a 7 string

  • First guitar but so far love it!

I'm 28 and finally decided to give it a shot. I love metal, and core music, thus figured I may as well learn on a 7 string. Never played before, but planning to learn through rocksmith. Got it all setup and I love it! Feels great, looks great, now just to master it. Definitely not saying it's top tier, but for the price point. I believe it's definitely worth it.

  • Great deal

I like this a lot. The bridge pickup is kind of shrill and I'll probably find something with more bottom.

I wanted to take a dip into 7 string world. I just didn't want to spend lots of money. Glad I made this choice. Everything is great on it. Great action with ZERO buzzing. The pickups sound great. Yes they are not perfect but they do the job very well. I am probably gonna put EMG's in this to really take it over the top. And some locking tuners. But other than that. This guitar is a true treasure.

  • Great Guitar but needs some work

I picked this up to check out the 7 string world. Yes, I know its not an expensive guitar, and you get what you pay for. The tuners have a hard time staying at pitch, and the pick-ups sound good, but are a little noisy. However, if you change out the pickups and tuners its a great feeling and playing guitar. It's awesome for someone looking to get into a 7 string guitar. You cant beat the price!

It appears to be a typo. Just verified with the manufacturer that it is poplar.
