Overview

Jackson is synonymous with high-performance guitar design and the progenitor musical speed machines. Conceived as a launching platform for technically advanced guitar playing, the SLATHXMG(M)3-6 Soloist is rife with Jackson's sophisticated ergonomic design, ultra-fast playability and monstrous tone.

Dual graphite reinforcement rods run the length of the maple neck with speed profile to fortify it against the extremes of nature, buttressing it against warping. A speedy 12-16 compound radius maple fingerboard creates the ideal playing surface for fat riffs and easy chording near the black plastic nut while gradually flattening in the upper registers for lightning-quick solos and wide bends without fear of fretting out.

A pair of EMG active humbucking pickups. an 85 neck pickup and 81 bridge pickup, generate versatile, huge and high output tones for brutal distortion and clear, crisp cleans. The Hardtail 6 strings-thru-body bridge produces massive sustain with enhanced note attack, and when combined with the Jackson-branded tuning machines, rock-solid tuning stability along with precise intonation.

Classic Jackson appointments include the instantly recognizable piranha inlays, stable Dunlop dual-locking strap buttons, black hardware, single-ply neck binding and the Soloists ergonomically arched top for playing blazing licks with comfort. Sleek, refined, and dangerous, the SLATHXMG(M)3-6 Soloist is art brought to life, tempered with high-tech performance for the ultimate metal machine.

Comments about Jackson SLATHXMG(M)3-6 Electric Guitar:

I picked up one of these at my local guitar center yesterday after checking out multiple $600-$900 LTDs, and wasn't nearly as impressed as I was when I picked up this jackson soloist. The neck was unlike any I've ever played. If I had the money I would have bought it on the spot. I've been eyeing the ESP LTD M's. MH's, and EC's and was thoroughly impressed, but never picked up a jackson soloist until yesterday. Don't get me wrong. the LTDs were good, but as far as playability, they've got nothing on this guitar right here.

"Aw hell, this ain't no guitar, now this here is a guitar!"

Comments about Jackson SLATHXMG(M)3-6 Electric Guitar:

No comparison to anything in its price point out there . My hand only likes a flat neck 12 to 16 radius. Anything else just hurts to play. Absolutely no pain with this Jackson the action and fingerboard are as good if not better than my Japanese Ibanez wizard necks. Pickups sound great. Workmanship is flawless. finish is spot on

I will be buying more jacksons in the future for sure

Shout out to Mike at GC in Somerville NJ thank you

Comments about Jackson SLATHXMG(M)3-6 Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar after playing it and playing it in store and I just couldn't live without it. The straight through neck and the emg's, the maple fretboard and the string through body just makes this entire guitar sing as it truly all feel's like one solid piece carved out of the side of a tree. Everything about this guitar is perfect and the neck feels great, east to slide but also holds that grip when playing some tricky chords. The guitar's stock tuners do great with standard all the way down to B and stay in tune very well. Overall one of the best guitars I have ever played.

Comments about Jackson SLATHXMG(M)3-6 Electric Guitar:

This is my first Jackson guitar, and my first guitar with EMG's. I had played this puppy at a Guitar Center in town. I plugged it into a Blackstar ID:Core 40 combo. Man I loved the sound. So I ordered this guitar allready knowing that I wanted it.

It came yesterday. When I opened I was pretty pumped. It does not disappoint. First of all the maple neck gives you extra clarity, crispness, and brightness to the sound, but is never shrill.

In fact it seems to tame any highnotes making them smooth.

This is like I said the first time I have owned EMG pick ups.

What I like about them. The crunch is big, but eq'd up. The solos are smooth, and easy to do.

The cons. There is less ooph in active pickups compared to passive. There is considerable gain stage definition in passive pickups.

That being said, there is less muddiness.

The compound radius fingerboard is a joy to play, super slim and easier to chord and for solos.

My wife and I went to Reno for a little get away. We went to Guitar Center just to kill some time. I saw this guitar and pulled it off the wall, plugged it in and started playing it. I couldn't believe how great it played. I could not put this guitar down. As I looked around some more, I keep this guitar in my hand. My wife looked at me with that look that says, NO. She finally gave in and I brought this baby home.

Comments about Jackson SLATHXMG(M)3-6 Electric Guitar:

I like this guitar so much I bought 2, after I had to sell my first one. Between the 2, in total I have owned and played this model for almost a year and done some home recording with it. I play mostly thrash and death metal, and this guitar does everything I want. The bridge pickup screams and produces the creamiest artificial harmonics. The neck pickup is warm fat smooth and clear, cleans and leads sound fantastic with the selector switch in the middle and both pickups on. The electronics are quiet. I love the set neck, it feels like a high quality billiards cue stick. The maple fretboard is great, especially after playing so many rosewood instruments. On some more porous rosewood boards, my fingernails annoyingly snag/scrap the fretboard during bends... no such issues with this guitar. I guess the nut is plastic but it's actually pretty nice and smooth; it seems like some kind of tough polymer like on a modern striker fired handgun. The tuners are solid, I play in C# and drop B. I don't have the strap lock receivers, but the strap buttons on the guitar are large and my strap is pretty secure. I have no plans on modifying or "upgrading" anything on this guitar. The looks and appearance speaks for itself. Something besides dot inlays, nice binding.

Cons? The intonation on the top C# string (the biggest gauge string) is just a hair off because I can't move the saddle back far enough, but it's real close within a few cents. If I removed the spring between the saddle and screwhead, I could get another quarter inch of travel which would probably put me spot on. The rest of the strings had plenty of travel to set set the intonation down tuned 1.5 steps. Also, I had to buy a gummed-up floor model because my local store is too cheap to stock them even when they are on sale (or maybe they sold a bunch and I bought the last one). Thankfully the floor model was flawless besides some sticky kid's fingers all over it.
