Just not as good as expected. Plug it in for a better sound.

I hate writing a review for a company that I love. I have multitple Ibanex guiatrs and have never had a bad thing to say about them--but I have to admit that they 5 stars reviews kind of talked me into this one...and I was very disappointed.
It does play well. If you are an electric player and want to play acoustic, this probably would be a guitar for you. The neck is thing--the action is good. AND when you plug in, the sound is good.
The problem comes when it is unplugged.
It sounds like a cheap child's toy. The highs are WAY to high and the lows are virtually non-existent, regardless of strings. I put various gauge string sets on and never found one that sounds good.
Also, the body, which is light and easily handled, is also plastic feelings and cheap. It doesn't instill any kind of "nice" when you are playing it.
It sounds good for recording, when plugged in...but you MUST plug it in. It simply is NOT an "acoustic" sounding guitar.

Comments about Ibanez Talman TCY10 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I've only just started playing, but have realized rather quickly that the workmanship of this guitar is quite professional. The volume is very balanced across the scale of the guitar, it is very playable, the tone is nice and bright, but has a solid, clear low end. Tone quality of this guitar is several times better than even some of the pricier acoustic-electrics.
Comments about Ibanez Talman TCY10 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Well, to say the least, this guitar is great. The action (height of strings off fretboard) is low, which I like a lot. Most acoustic guitars aren't as playable as this one. The blue one, which I have looks great. All in all I would DEFINITELY recommend this to you if you are thinking about buying it.
Comments about Ibanez Talman TCY10 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I recently purhcased this guitar about a month ago. I'm a 10-year experienced drummer looking into teaching myself guitar. The same time I bought this I also bought a Squier electric as I was unsure if acoustic or electric would be easier. To my surprise, this guitar was easier to play than the electric! The guitar is beautiful and feels great to hold. It's not as loud as a standard acoustic but you can always plug it in if you have to. If you're looking for a great, cheap acoustic-electric look no further. Highly recommend.
Comments about Ibanez Talman TCY10 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I spent a lot of time researching on what kind of guitar I wanted. What attracted me the most to the Ibanez acoustic electric guitar was it's style, sound quality and great value. The guitar sounds great either plugged in or not. Which is important to me because I will not always have it connected to to the amp. The cut away feature makes it easier for me to play the higher notes without breaking my wrist. I reccomend this guitar to anyone looking for a good value.
Comments about Ibanez Talman TCY10 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
This guitar is simply amazing. It is built with great quality that won't fail. The strings are a bit thick for my taste, but sound amazing. The only downside to this guitar is the built in tuner. It is only usable when connected onto an amp. But nonetheless it is a small and minor detail that in no way lowers the value of this guitar. Don't think twice about this guitar! Your getting your moneys worth. Plus more.

I got this guitar about 3 years ago and it still play really good. If your ever looking for a cheap nice acoustic-electric get this one
Comments about Ibanez Talman TCY10 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I bought this knowing Ibanez electric accoustics are nice warm sounding without even plugging into an amp. plugging into a spider IV amp though, WOW. great clean sound fast neck, and low action! I highly reccomend this guitar to anyone, in fact I went to GC the other day to pick up strings for my electric, and the rep said, "I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THOSE TALMANS!!!!" For the price, this is easily a great buy, at first I wanted to black, but once I saw the blue, I totally changed my mind.
Comments about Ibanez Talman TCY10 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Great guitar. Have been performing music for 8 years. Everything from trumpet, Euphonium, piano, and now learning guitar. I love the double cut away, high notes are very easy to play, internal tuner, which gurantees it'll be in tune once you set it. Sounds great plugged in. Good pickup. I tried several more exspensive guitars and came back to this one. It's a steal for the quality of guitar you're getting! I've been having issues with the strap staying on... It may be that its the strap, but thats a very minor issue nontheless.

This thing plays great plugged or unplugged. I put lighter strings, 10's. Put a capo on it and my grandson really loves his guitar lessons from me, his grandfather, I am plugged into a DA20 Vox amp. It is comfortable, very very comfortable, The Blue burst looks great. You won't find a better guitar for the money.
Comments about Ibanez Talman TCY10 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Now first keep in mind this review is coming not from a beginner, but someone who has played for years on the cheapest guitars available and the nicest of vintage martins/gibsons. I have never owned anything over $400, and thats because there are many guitars in that price range that are EXCELLENT values and easily rival guitars costing many times as much. This is not one of those guitars. Yes it's true that Ibanez necks are famous for being very easy to play and having nice low action, but many people point this out as a key feature of this guitar. In fact the neck is not nearly as thin and playable as it is on many other Ibanez guitars or other guitars in this range. The action is low but a good setup could fix that on any guitar. The sound of this is just thin and aweful. It has no body, and the laminate top doesn't help at all with projection. The electronics/tuner are ok, but thats about the only thing on this guitar that I like. Please if you're looking for a guitar, get a nicer budget instrument, like an Eastman, Seagull, or similar guitar. If you want a similar smaller size acoustic electric, go with a better model ibanez or a yamaha.
Comments about Ibanez Talman TCY10 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I am a long standing Ibanez customer. I fell in love with the first Ibanez I ever played and have found them to be one of the BEST guitars out there. As I have gotten older I find myself sitting down to play more and more, the thin body cobined with the exceptional tone and playability of the Talman makes this guitar my favorite for all arround playing. I still have my LP and would NEVER give it up. For stage play I use both instruments and have no complaints with either of them. If you are looking for your first quality guitar that will last you a lifetime then this is one instrument you should not pass up.

I first played guitar with a couple of L.A. groups in the sixties, but over the years managed to get a "frozen" shoulder, broke my wrist, etc., and just had to stop. I saw this light and friendly guitar and after playing around with it, realized I didn't need an Advil. Incredibly user-friendly!
The sound is good, both plugged and unplugged. I can use this at local venues without worry. And it's a great couch guitar for just dinking around. A heck of a deal.

This product is great if you play small venues and open mic nights especially. Great for practice and travel and perfect for acoustic and pop songs. The neck is thin and easy to move around between frets. The cutaway is perfect and the sound is great. Definitely recommend it . The electric sound is great and the acoustic is nice and soft. The only thing is that the acoustic sound is not as loud as your usually Taylor or Martian acoustic , it has a special lower sound that I personally love but some people might not.

I could not put it down. Really!! I tried others and kept going back to this one. Payday comes it's mine!!!! Light easy to play what more could you want???
Comments about Ibanez Talman TCY10 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Now before I get into this, you would notice that everyone who had bad things to say about this guitar bought it online. If you don't want problems don't buy ANY guitar online. Go to GC and buy it yourself. But this is a great buy, it's treated me well, and I agree, the strings could get a little old, so I bought a higher grain string for it and OMG it's heavenly. But if your looking for an acoustic-electric for around $200 this is a sure thing.

Comments about Ibanez Talman TCY10 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
When I went to the store, I saw this guitar right when I walked in, When I started playing it, I thought it had a great sound to it. Then I saw a fender and i thought it didn't sound as good and also it was a lot more expensive. So if you are looking for a nice, light, and great sounding guitar, this is the one to go for!
Comments about Ibanez Talman TCY10 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
This guitar is great for practice and to use it with an amp. It doesn't have a strong resonance as a full size acoustic guitar, but for an electric guitar player like me it is great because it is very light, and very comfortable to play.
