Great bass for the price

I have been doing hardcore punk/metal gigs for about a year with this bass and in that time I can say the sound and playability is amazing for the price, it's also very lightweight which is great for longer sets or practice. A few minor defects/inconveniences such as minor fret buzz, my volume/EQ knobs came off randomly, and strange Alan key sizes for adjustments. Other than that would recommend to anyone, I've even thrown it off a 4ft stage onto concrete and it still plays fine (it cracked the body pretty bad and chipped up the finish though)

    I LOVE this bass! Very light and easy on the fingers. Sounds amazing! Only fault is that the black and gray one looked like ice in the pics, but looks more like smoke on the one I recieved. Still looks super cool though.

    I bought this to use when I teach lessons as my primary bass is a higher lever 5-string version of this. Not going to lie, this thing feels almost identical. Sure it doesn't look as nice, it's not as clean or as fancy, but it plays fantastic. I understand that at this price range it can be hit or miss, but for the price this is definitely worth it. YOU WILL DEFINITELY NEED TO WORK ON THE SETUP, it was absolutely brutal out of the box...

    Soundgear by Ibanez are always insanely good for the price point. My wife uses this one. And I've owned a couple others. Will be buying more Ibanez Soundgear in the future

    This bass plays very well and the neck is very comfortable. It can go low and clean and can deliver a bite. Nice pickups but I've never found myself actually using the jazz pickup as in my ears, not much sound has changed and i would even say it sounds worse and harder to play because of the tension. A VERY IMPORTANT DETAIL I DID NOT KNOW BEFORE BUYING THIS BASS is that the pick ups are powered by a battery and it will need to be changed when it gives out. This is quite inconvenient but still manageable. Also the bass is quite light which is pretty nice.

    Found this on display and tried out a bunch of other basses including the Yamaha, Schecter, and Fender. Overall, I felt this one played the best for me with a very sleek neck almost like I was playing my strat. Love the tone so far and recording through my Spark Edge it sounds great!

    A few reviews have noted fret buzz. Is this a setup or equipment issue. Will Guitar Center ensure that an out the door Ibanez SR300EDX Electric Bass Guitar will be fret buzz free?

    1) It would be a setup issue. 2) No, we don't. Our instruments ship in factory sealed boxes. We do not set up new instruments.

    This has a 9 volt battery but I see no off switch and it kills the battery between plays unless I remove the battery when done playing. Am I missing something?

    It doesn't have an on/off switch. Whether an active preamp is on or off has nothing to do with the battery life. If your battery is going dead when it's unplugged, it sounds like there's a short.
