I'm surprised that nobody else has reviewed this little gem. I tried this out in-store before buying, and the pickups are highly responsive and punchy. The 5-way switch is what makes this guitar so versatile and fun to use. The neck is thin and feels super smooth. The dotted inlays are pushed to the edge of the frets which gives it a slick, professional look. The natural wood color is what caught my eye, it really stands out in the crowd. All in all, a well rounded guitar for the price. Everyone should at least have 1 in their collection.

I've read some reviews on this guitar and they are not misleading. The electronics in this guitar coming straight out of the box real lacked luster. Don't give up though this guitar has great potential if you can drop a little extra money into it and mod it out. The wizard neck that comes on this and RG models is, well, amazing. The tuners are good and the body on this guitar is very sound as well.

I bought this guitar about 6 months ago with the whole intention to customize it and I am really impressed. I put EMG 85/81 pickups in mine and changed the pots to dual concentric/stacked pots (to control tone/volume on both pickups) and turned it into what would closely resemble a higher end RG for about $200 less than actually shelling out for the out of box higher end. This guitar is well worth the price. It's a great beginner model and with a few customizations can suit your needs.

Bottom line, get this for someone who's starting or has had some experience. If they hold onto it long enough to put some tweaks into it they will forever fall in love with this guitar.

So much guitar for so little!

Comments about Ibanez RG6003FM Electric Guitar:

Ibanez has been stepping up their game with these lower end RG's. Played the Trans Grey Flat one and it exceeded my expectations. Great playing neck, awesome looking Flamed Maple top, RICH MAHOGANY, offset dots, and a pretty good action that came on it. Pickups are pretty decent as well. I'm also a sucker for matte finishes. I'm more surprised at how easy it is to get one as the price it has. Plays like it's at least twice as much. I've been played for almost 7 years, but if I were to start over playing guitar, I'd go for this as my first electric guitar.

Comments about Ibanez RG6003FM Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar off the floor at my local guitar center, and I just can't stop playing it! It is amazing sounding guitar, perfect for everything I want to play. Only thing I would recommend if you get this guitar off the floor like I did, REPLACE THOSE STRINGS! I had one snap while I was playing it and it just about caught my eye. This guitar is outstanding if you are looking to buy it, great sound clean and distorted!

Comments about Ibanez RG6003FM Electric Guitar:

i went to the center here in Oklahoma City. i picked up this guitar on a trade in on some old gear i had. originally i was looking to get an Iron Label series from Ibanez, but i didn't quite have enough in trade in value for it. so i opted for this one. it has an amazing sound. i took it home, plugged it in to logic studio, and recorded some heavy metal rhythm guitar riffs. awesome! this is really a different experience playing this guitar, as my background is classical and flamenco guitar. i still have to get use to using a guitar pick. PS the guy at the front deask really went out of his way to get me a great deal. he deserves a raise ;-)
i tried to upload a photo i took last night but the web page goes to a blank screen.

Comments about Ibanez RG6003FM Electric Guitar:

I saw an Ibanez RG on sale at my local GC and went in for a try. I did not expect the guitar to feel so well made and for it to sound so well. The neck is very comfortable and flat, and the thing is around like 5 lbs, making it easy to walk with. Has strat like qualities with that thick humbucker tone. I recommend this guitar to any experienced player or beginner. This gitar also sounds great with a delay pedal :) The pickups could use some work however, but it is still a good guitar.

I have been playing for 20+ years and have high end jacksons, usa,les pauls and esp custom guitars but never had a fixed bridge or ibanez, thought it was kinda silly to go from a $3000 guitar to a $300 guitar, but im in love with this RG,the fixed bridge and the flat finish make it very easy to clean and not nearly as much maintenance as a floyd rose!

Comments about Ibanez RG6003FM Electric Guitar:

This is a nice guitar. The neck feels great and is very playable. I bought the transparent blue finish and it looks great.

It has a fixed bridge and that helps keep it in tune. I don't think the tuners would be up to the task if it had a tremolo.

The pick ups are good, not great. They are set up with a 5 way selector and it gives a wide variety of sounds, including a split humbucker that sounds a bit like a tele. There is a diagram on the Ibanez website that shows all the possible configurations.

I've had no problems with buzz etc because it was set up already at GC.

Don't complain about stuff like fret buzz. Have your guitars set up, or learn to do it yourself. Youtube is full of videos to show you how.

Comments about Ibanez RG6003FM Electric Guitar:

Definitely a good guitar for the money but meh when you try listening to changes on couple of tone switches which is weird for quantum pickups, particularly the lows and mids were terrible for me. I tested this on a Boss Katana set to 25W. As always with Ibanez guitars, playability is just awesome. Probably a good start-up guitar for shredders and if you don't want to spend a lot or want to have a back up guitar for practice, sure, yes. Aesthetically, excellent.

I was really wanting a solid ibanez rg with a nice thin wizard neck, fixed bridge, and great metal tones and i couldnt be happier. The pickups could be swapped for some better ones but for stock pu they really arent that bad. If you just want a solid ibanez rg for a very reasonable price, this is it.

I SAW THIS BEAUTY AT A MUSIC STORE IN BATAVIA, IL AND LOVED THE WAY IT FELT AND PLAYED THAT IT WENT HOME WITH ME. IT WAS THE NATURAL SATIN FLAMED MAPLE VERSION OF THIS GUITAR. WITH THE 5-WAY SWITCH, I CAN GET A FEW STRAT SOUNDS OUT OF IT TOO BESIDES SOME GREAT ROCK TONES. THE INFINITY PICKUPS ARE PRETTY HOT AND CAN PRODUCE PENTY OF DISTORTION TO MY EARS.

YA GOTTA TRY ONE. I DON'T THINK YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED.

Started playing guitar some two years ago (after having learned the basics as a kid, many decades ago...), and became slowly aware of the role of the neck shape for ease of play. So I figured I ought to try an Ibanez RG, and got one of these today. I like it a lot, having a hard time to put it down. Between my Epiphone SG, and my Squier Strat, I like the overall balance of the RG, I like the tone, and the RG neck shape seems to agree very well with my hand. Setup straight from Guitarcenter seems fine, as well. All in all, good Christmas present to myself.

Comments about Ibanez RG6003FM Electric Guitar:

Firstly, I am a novice guitar player who learned chords on an acoustic. I bought this guitar to teach myself how to play electric guitar. This is a guitar that has much potential if you mod it, but out of the box, it is a very good quality, decent sounding guitar. This guitar does have fret buzz, but it just needs a proper setup. The sound is pretty good for a guitar of this quality. You're paying for a great beginners guitar and/or the basis for a high end instrument. You could save several hundred dollars by upgrading this instead of paying for a high end one. With upgrades, this guitar would be gold.
