The Ibanez Premium SR5CMDX 5-string electric bass is crafted with select tonewoods and powerful electronics for a stunning instrument that’s rich in sound and playability. The Atlas 5-piece panga panga/purpleheart neck provides a well-balanced note attack while the KTS Titanium reinforcement rods increase its stability and add sustain. The neck is topped with a panga panga fingerboard for a tight low and mid range, along with a sharp attack on the high end. Ensure accuracy to your notes with the medium-sized frets, and enjoy smooth, comfortable playability with the premium fret edge treatment. The combination of curly maple, purpleheart and bubinga on the top and back enhance the beauty of the design, and the ash body delivers a pleasant brightness and rich sustain.

The Premium SR5CMDX’s sound is driven by a pair of Nordstrand “Big Single” pickups, which cram a meaty single coil into a soapbar-style pickup, producing a full-bodied tonal texture while still retaining the signature clarity of single-coil pickups. The Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ is a straightforward, no-nonsense EQ control—the Boost and Cut for the Mid Control are each centered on slightly different frequencies, delivering a preset range of the most favorable bass tones. The EQ bypass control offers precision tonal adjustments, including a switch to choose passive-only operation. When the EQ bypass is activated, the treble tone control knob becomes the global tone control for the passive circuit. Additional appointments include Gotoh machine heads for precision and smooth feel, an MR5S bridge with adjustable saddles and a 3-way Mid frequency switch to change the mid-tone between 250Hz, 450Hz and 700Hz.

The Premium SR5CMDX comes with a hardshell case.
