Ibanez

collapse expand iconDescription

The bound, all-maple full hollowbody provides tight resonance without feedback, perfect for that muted jazz tone and fully flexible for everything from alt rock to pounding punk. The mahogany set neck with bound laurel fretboard is a delight to the digits. An ACH-ST humbucker at the neck and ACH-ST at the bridge provide a beefy, quiet signal with pronounced mids.

Beautiful guitar

I purchased this guitar approximately a year ago. I was walking into Guiatr Center to rent some audio equipment and this Guitar happen to catch my attention from the corner of my eye. There is something about this guitar that is undeniable, for the price it plays very well. If you take it to a knowledgable Luthier (guitar repairman) he can make this bad boy sing even better. I switched out the original pickups for the Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates and OMG , this guitar completely transformed!!!!! Everyone in the shop wanted to know who's Ibanez it belonged to and where passing my guitar around like a cheap .... (well you know what I mean). This guitar of definitely a diamond in the rough that needs some minor TLC to shine just as bright as its $900 counter parts. Only reason I'm given it a four star rating instead of a five star rating, is because it does need some adjustment right out of the box.

Listen Closely As You Play

I'm in agreement with most of the positive things I've read regarding this guitar. And will add that there is something very exciting and inspiring about how well it plays. I kind of wish it had a pickguard (purely for cosmetic reasons), but the reason I'm adding my voice to the din is regarding the pups. I haven't spent enough time to say if I'd change them for how they sound, but here's the thing: like many guitarists, I rest my right hand around the bridge. Right away I noticed the odd rubbing sound that results from any interaction between a finger and the ribbon-y thing that wraps around the pick up. Either end or side. If you try to stay away from contacting the pup with your hand you'll wind up holding your hand (or at least I do) in some way that feels unnatural. And likely leave you crampy and grumpy and frustrated. I'm not sure this is a deal-breaker yet, but it is making this more of a sofa guitar than a plug-this-sucker in guitar. I'm just saying.

Added shecter tuners, a knock off Bigsby tremola bar, bone nut, and an adjustable roller saddle. Not sure it improved it but this thing sounds awesome regardless. Tune it to open E and play some Stones .... trust me.

Love the tone.. I have to turn mine down a bit due to hot pickups and feed back.. Still has a great range in sound.. Ibanez products are the best for the money in my opinion..

Keeping in mind that this guitar is a hollow body under $500 you can't expect perfection but I was very impressed with this guitar. Great feel. Comfortable and fun to play. Smooth fret board, nice neck. Very beautiful hollowbody sound.

This guitar feels great to play. Really nice neck. No sharp frets. Great sound, especially beautiful clean. Also nice that matching Ibanez case is only an additional $80.πŸ‘πŸ»

I read a review from someone that said this guitar can be used with a acoustic amp. Is this recommended or is an amp for a electric guitar better. Or does it even matter. I play my acoustic electric guitars through a Crate Cimarron. I was looking to get my first electric guitar and an amp to go with it and I liked the the sound of the and look of some of the ho[[ow bdrd ons I have tried and I like this one. If I can use my amp that I have, it would be a plus. If not, I'll get an electric amp like I intended to.

Typically any guitar amp will work with any guitar that has a pickup. In this case, I believe they may be talking about the brand Acoustic amp. Honestly my way I go is something with a nice clean tone, then I can add effects pedals if I want to. Open box are used items that may or may not have blemishes. Blemishes are slight and do not affect the tone or play ability of the instrument.
