Overview

Taking a “modern approach to acoustic guitar tradition,” the Ibanez Artwood Series of acoustic instruments has long been a source of pride and a labor of love. Now with the Artwood Vintage Series, Ibanez looks to the past for inspiration in the development of new historically influenced instruments.

The Ibanez AVC6DTS is a classic Grand Concert-style body with an artfully distressed finish featuring a solid Sitka Spruce top with mahogany back and sides, and a satin-finish mahogany neck. The combination of spruce and mahogany construction produces a bright high-end with a warm, full low end, reminiscent of guitars associated with the acoustic boom of the early '60s.

A bone nut and saddle make this an extremely responsive instrument, reproducing delicate fingerpicking or percussive strumming with equal distinction. Other features include a herringbone rosette and Antique Nickel tuners, to complement this instrument’s aged character.

Comments about Ibanez AVC6 Artwood Vintage Distressed Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar:

You really need to look on Ibanez's website to see a real photo of it... this guitar is absolutely gorgeous. It looks like it's been handed down from your great grandfather who stole it from his public school music department in the 50s. Just a cool weathered look and very trendy. It plays light, and the tone is very full and loud, which is surprising because of the layers of stain they used. Supposedly they have some weird open stain that can be applied thick like this and magic juju beans or something makes this thing really sing.

It has great intonation all the way up the neck, and the grand concert shape is perfect. I added the Fishman Matrix Infinity pickup to it because I love it so much! You should check out classical guitar cases because the body is very similar and you can get a better fit. Ibanez recommends their own classical guitar case on their website.

Comments about Ibanez AVC6 Artwood Vintage Distressed Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar:

Great guitar. Light weight, high quality build, and loud with nice bark when played hard ... love It! Would be perfect with beefier V neck, and a bit wider string spacing. In some ways better than a CEO-7 or 00-18 at 1/4 the price.

Comments about Ibanez AVC6 Artwood Vintage Distressed Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this guitar mainly for leading worship music in front of small crowds. I couldn't have dreamed of anything more perfect. The sound is just what I was looking for, I love it. It is a grand concert, but it is louder than my dreadnought. Very loud guitar, but perfect for me. The action is relatively low, perfect for strumming. It's easy to play; the neck is not glossy so your fingers don't get stuck.

The only downfall is that the bridge construction is rather cheap. It's not a $2000 guitar, so it's not going to be perfect. The pins don't fit that great and the wood is not cut perfectly. It's a pain when changing strings. However, this is nothing a $50 set up can't fix.

Comments about Ibanez AVC6 Artwood Vintage Distressed Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar:

This guitar is everything that I have dreamed of. The look, the feel, the sound, everything is absolutely perfect. I am still a beginner and I do have a simple beginner Fender acoustic but I wanted something that looked and felt good. This is the kind of guitar that you don't want to put down. It's perfect.

Comments about Ibanez AVC6 Artwood Vintage Distressed Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar:

This is a beautiful guitar.. I have been playing for years ( Not Important). The hardware on the guitar is of good quality, solid Sitka top, Mahogany body , Rosewood fret board , bone nut and saddle with antique style pegs....The price was right... I compared it to my Martin that was a 1000 plus..... This guitar is light weight and it light to the touch w/ a deep rich sound and warm tone..... I can't put it down... The look and feel is pretty unique......Love it!!
