Ibanez

Description

The Ibanez AEG70 Flamed Maple Top Grand Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar offers musicians an instrument with premium features and masterful sound in an affordable, accessible package. Built around a solid sapele body with a distinctive flamed maple top, the lightweight AEG70 projects with warmth and resonance while cutting through in live settings thanks to its Ibanez AEQ-TTS preamp and tuner.

Simple Yet Powerful Electronics Provide Full Tonal Control

The AEG70 starts with an all-new preamp, the Ibanez AEQ-TTS, which offers natural acoustic tone at its center setting along with the ability to adjust to different sonic profiles. With just two knobs—one for volume and one for shape—this streamlined preamp enables you to dial in anything from a full, warm tone to a bright, cutting sound with a simple turn. An easy-to-read LCD tuner is built right into the preamp for convenient tuning on stage or in the studio.

Resonant Sapele Body Enhanced by Distinctive Flamed Maple

The foundation of the AEG70's tone is its sapele body, a dense, musical wood that provides articulate lows, ringing highs and balanced midrange. The guitar's sapele body is capped by a flamed maple top, which not only adds visual flair but also helps produce a focused, woody sound with rich overtones. A slim nyatoh neck offers a comfortable playing feel for guitarists of all styles.

Premium Components for Legendary Playability

In the studio or on stage, the AEG70 delivers a playing experience worthy of any pro. It features an ebony bridge, walnut fretboard and open-gear tuners along with an undersaddle Ibanez T-bar pickup for balanced plugged-in tone. The AEG70's 15.7" fingerboard radius and low action make complex chords and melodic runs easy to play while proprietary Ibanez bridge pins enable fast string changes.

Couldn't be happier

I was disappointed that the Yamaha I went to get was not In.stock. I picked up about 10 other acoustics in the 600 range. I went with this Ibanez and couldn't be more pleased with my decision. It is a BEAUTIFUL guitar. The fit and finish is well above the price point. I would recommend this instrument to anyone. I should have known it would be like every other ibanez (electric or acoustic) that I've played...a whole lot of quality for your money! I have not owned an acoustic in 20 years. I would think about buying one and then find another electric I wanted more. I've fallen in love with the built in tuner. Hit one button and I can easily drop 1/2 step to play some of my favorites. I know the onboard tuner is not new to most folks but for players like me that have never had it, will love the convenience. This instrument has stayed in my hands since my purchase. For me it's not just a home run but a bottom of the ninth walk off grand slam. I love this thing!

A poor sounding, beautiful guitar.

I bought this AEG70 in charcoal burst online. Typically I don't like to buy guitars online until I get the chance to play them first, however due to Covid I've tried to avoid going in-stores. I've been needing a new acoustic for some time now and finally had the chance to buy one. There was nothing observably wrong with the condition of the shipping - the guitar arrived without any incident and on time as expected. Opening the packaging revealed the stunning flamed maple veneer on the body. Its a beautiful guitar. The tuning machines all seem to be high quality. The nut and saddle seem to be made of some cheap material but serve their purpose. The fret-board is unbearably "dry" and scratchy - desperate need of some fret-oil to rehydrate the wood, this affected the playability of the guitar substantially. The most offensive aspect of the guitar was the tone, which I would call a thin toy guitar sound. It sounds like your playing through a tin can. Not what I was expecting for this price range. This is a beautiful guitar, but the range of tone it produces is not worth your money. Try your instruments before you buy them. I'll be returning this one soon.

I really live how this guitar looks even though the pink isn't quite as pink as photos show. The sound is very thin unplugged…which is mostly how I play it.

  • It's ok for what I got it for

Won't lie, there are not the best sounding guitars, not the quality I'm use to but, I bought this to travel with so I wouldn't be losing much if it got messed up. So for a travel guitar, I'd say it's pretty decent. All the guys a guitar center were also very helpful to make sure I got everything I needed.

I love this guitar. It's great for small group camp fire. It's small and easy to move and store on trips but where this guitar shines is when connected to an Amp

A friend told me to buy the guitar that I love because it would inspire me to pick it up and play more often. He was right. It's gorgeous, and it sounds great! I love it, and I love learning!
