Overview

The AEG Series is a stage-ready acoustic-electric guitar designed specifically with the electric player in mind. With a thinner body and shorter 25” scale length, the AEG is designed to put the electric guitarist at ease with a feel and playability less acoustic and more reminiscent an electric instrument.

Built for comfort and speed, the AEG1812IIDVS features the feedback-killing thinner profile AEG body. The spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a rosewood fretboard provide a lively sonic response even without amplification. A Fishman Sonicore pickup with an AEQ-SP2 preamp delivers a sweet cascade of amplified acoustic tones for the stage, and an onboard tuner provides quick, discreet tuning. Other features include chrome die-cast tuners, a beautiful Abalone rosette and a natural high gloss finish.

Comments about Ibanez AEG1812II AEG 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The sound is rich and deep for it's size, the action is surprisingly better than my Jackson electric! Once I got it in tune and strings stretched a little, it plays Very well. The frets are not cumbersome, the neck is not much wider than my fender 6 string acoustic, and the onboard electronics work pretty darn good. The tuner is very handy. Has 2 audio ports. This is my first 12 string and after playing this one I don't know why I waited so long to get one.

Comments about Ibanez AEG1812II AEG 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Been playing 30 years, first 12 string I have owned. I was looking for a slightly smaller user friendly 12 string at a friendly price for use at home and with friends and this guitar fit the bill. At the price that was paid I am very happy with the guitar. Surprisingly easy to play and plenty loud even with the smaller body. Only issue and I'm not sure its even an issue is you have to tune once in awhile. All in all very happy with purchase

Comments about Ibanez AEG1812II AEG 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I found this thing on clearance at my local GC. I now know why it was on clearance. Ibanez has reached a new low with the materials and electronics they are putting in these affordable instruments. I have old 80's and 90's Ibanez gear that is outstanding. In the last ten years, especially with their acoustic products, Ibanez has spared every expense. This thing is absolutely terrible. I needed a 12 string to have in the studio and thought I'd try and save a few bucks. I now know that there simply is no such thing as an affordable 12 string that isn't total junk. It's a lot of tension and requires a well built body to support it. This neck and body feel like they are made out of compressed pencil shavings. You simply can't cut corners with a 12 string. Do yourself a favor and spend a couple hundred more for something that isn't cheaply made trash. You will tune this thing constantly, and even open chords sound out of tune. I have adjusted the neck, and set this thing up to the best of my ability, and it is simply a lost cause.

Comments about Ibanez AEG1812II AEG 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I like small bodied guitars. I tried this at the dealer and couldn't put it down. I usually buy Taylor so I tried that first, then I tried the Martin. For less than half the price this blew them away. The action was much better. The body size was more comfortable and the sound was almost the same. (The tone of the Taylor 12 string had a slight edge on this one, however nothing that overcame the price tag and the feel of the instrument). Try it and see if you like it too.
