High Register Unplayable

I really wanted to like this instrument given its low price for wood. It does have a pretty nice, sweet tone, hence second star. However, it's of no use to me since anything above G in the high register (thumb partway inserted) simply are not playable! Don't know if I received a defective instrument, given that other reviewers seem to like it, but I can't return it!
This is a professional (NOT student!) instrument, good price

Bought this recorder for my 15 yr old daughter as a Christmas gift this past year (2012). She loves it and plays it quite beautifully. She's come a long way since those days of "Hot Cross Buns" and "Mary Had A Little Lamb". She now enjoys composing her own melodies for our listening pleasure!

Does the recorder play well up to a high A (just above the staff)?
It's a bit rough in higher registers but this model is one of the better ones with the stronger upper registers.submitted4 years ago
