Description
The Hohner 532 Blues Harp MS-Series harmonica is designed for musicians looking to achieve an authentic blues sound. Hohner has been crafting harmonicas for over 150 years and their expertise results in an instrument with a rich, warm tone that is unparalleled. The Blues Harp features a modular system that allows players to customize the harmonica to their preferences and the wood comb and brass reed plates provide a traditional timbre perfect for blues and rock genres. Whether you're a beginner exploring the blues or a professional musician, the Hohner Blues Harp delivers a gritty blues tone that inspires.
Iconic Blues Sound
The Hohner Blues Harp is engineered to produce the raw, expressive tones that define blues music. The reeds are designed to be highly responsive, allowing players to bend notes with ease and add color to their playing. The wood comb also enhances note bending and produces a dark, dirty tone that cuts through. These features make the Blues Harp ideal for playing blues standards and improvising soulful solos.
Modular System for Customization
Hohner's modular system allows the components of the Blues Harp to be interchanged, enabling players to customize the harmonica to suit their needs. The wood comb, brass reed plates and outer shells are compatible across models, so players can create a hybrid harmonica with their preferred elements from multiple harmonicas. Replacement reed plates are also available to revitalize an older harmonica or provide alternative reed options.
Durability for Gigging Musicians
While the Hohner Blues Harp produces a classic blues tone, its construction is designed to meet the demands of modern musicians. The outer shells are durable to withstand the rigors of frequent use and travel. The reed plates are securely fastened to prevent rattling and ensure consistent, reliable performance for live shows and recording sessions. These rugged yet portable harmonicas are ideal for gigging musicians who want an authentic blues harmonica that can keep up with their busy schedule.
Available Keys for Any Song
The Hohner Blues Harp comes in 12 keys from G to F#, so players can find the right harmonica for any song. The variety of available keys makes this iconic harmonica versatile enough for playing along to recorded tracks, jamming with other musicians or performing full sets. Whatever key you need, the Blues Harp has you covered.

Great sound, solid construction, awesome case
I just bought my first one. With a wooden comb this sounds similar to a Marine Band. The bends are easy to pull off and response is fairly quick. The harp seems to be put together really well and I expect it to hold up similarly to a Marine Band. I normally prefer Special 20s and Marine Bands from Hohner, but this harp may find it's way into my gig bag...it just sounds great right out of the package. A big plus is the case. The case is made of hard plastic and the harp fits tightly into it. It is the same case used for the Pro Harp. I love it and I'm probably going to buy a few more.

Not great. Not bad
When I started playing harp I bought a few "blues harp ms" in several different keys. I bought them (despite several bad reviews on other pages) because "I want to play the blues, so I'll but a blues harp". I didnt want the marine band because it didn't have a bluesy name and sounded doorkie. After a few months of playing I broke down and bought a marine band. Much better in every aspect. Do yourself a favor, pocket the "I know everything" attitude and buy a marine band.

Needed to replace a Hohner harmonica from the 70's. Yes, this company does "long life harmonicas". The new one does have better sound and ease of playing is improved!
Poor quality control on this harmonica.

I ordered a Big River Harp, MS Series harmonica. The whole thing is out of tune, most notes are sharp up to 15 per cent, the last high note is flat. I noticed on the return slip , no returns on harmonicas. I'm really disappointed, not more buying harmonicas.
Great harp. Smooth sound.

Great sound on this harp. Smooth and deep. Certainly worth picking up one in each key. Planning on heading over today to order a low F rocket. Be sure of what you want, though, unlike other instruments no returns. Go to YouTube and listen to exactly what you want first. Price is about average.
Sounds great and reliable

Needed this key for a few tunes we do, and ya cant go wrong with a blues Harp. The Blues Harp is a reliable great harmonica, I own several in different keys. I use them at all of our gigs. They last and I seldom blow out a reed with a Blues harp. I will continue to purchase them when they are available in the keys needed.

The Blues Harp has a lovely rich sound that is produced by the wooden reeds. I much prefer this to the plastic reeds. I have been playing this type of harmonica and my harps from a full set of twelve keys for more than 20 years. I take good care of them and they perform perfectly. Notes bend clearly and without difficulty. I had to purchase three new ones because I lost them. The new harps fit right in with the older harps. I love these and would highly recommend them for a professional or a beginner.
