  • New version is a clear cheapening of a once great product

I have used Hercules stands since they first came out. The new version is a sad decent into poor construction & uselessness. I still have some of the original stands that are rugged, and work every time. This new version is an accident waiting to happen.

  • I would not buy this product again.

I can confirm previous comments that the plastic parts that make up the adjustable slider gets brittle and tacky to the touch over time.

  • Rubber parts "melt" and get extremely sticky.

I purchased (4) Hercules guitar stands at a local guitar store back in 2009. They have always been in my media room upstairs in the air conditioning. Last year, I picked one up and noticed that the rubber around on the stands was exceptionally sticky (felt like fly paper). Upon inspection, all of the stands had the rubber slowly disintegrating. Thus, I would not recommend these stands for long-term use.
