Overview

The Single Guitar Stand features the innovative Hercules Auto Grab System (AGS) yoke: the arms turn in and up with the weight of your guitar to hold it securely and simply open up when you lift it off. All contact points with the instrument feature Specially Formulated Foam (SFF) rubber to protect your guitar's finish. Also features the Hand Grip Height Adjuster, which makes adjustments a breeze with a locking pin to secure the stand in place. A folding backrest flips down to support your guitar and back up for storage and transport.

All Hercules stands are safe for most nitrocellulose lacquer finish guitars*.

*Hercules tests for many types of nitro finish, however some guitar manufacturers change their nitro mixture often. Guitars should never be stored on a stand...always in the case.

Just What Our Music Leader Needed!

By Rev Paul Gunderson

from United States

Comments about Hercules Stands GS412B Single Guitar Stand:

As pastor, I gave this 'gift' to our music leader for easy way to set her guitar when not in use. She was so pleased as it had better features than most guitar stands, i.e. swing down holder on the neck, padded lower guitar support and easy and quick release. Also so easy to disassemble, light and easy to carry.

Good Solid Stand - About the only option for a V

By Jeff

from Dunkirk, MD

Comments about Hercules Stands GS412B Single Guitar Stand:

The stand is sturdy and pretty well designed. I bought it because I needed a stand for my son's flying V and most others don't accommodate them. I like the locking feature but with a stand like this, I would worry more about the whole thing getting knocked over (at a gig) than the guitar falling off. 2 negatives. 1. The legs fold down making the thing pretty long and awkward to carry. Minor but mentionable. 2. The post that the back of the guitar rests against moves the center of gravity away from the center of the legs so it is not as stable as I hoped. I only worry about the last because it is used at my son's gigs where the people get pretty close. Still a better stand than most and probably deserves 4.5 stars.

Comments about Hercules Stands GS412B Single Guitar Stand:

I use this at home. It's kind of overkill because it is very strong and well made and can handle a lot more use then just at home. I tend to buy something that's more then I need instead of my guitar ending up on the floor. I like this model because the guitar hangs from the headstock and doesn't sit on it's bottom, I can use it for all my irregular shaped guitars. I like the way the guitar goes easily in and out of the stand.

Comments about Hercules Stands GS412B Single Guitar Stand:

Really nice stand for my Flying V. It allows you to hand the guitar via the headstock/neck as opposed to resting on the bottom like most guitar stands. You can't rest a Flying V on the bottom, it just doesn't work. Most stands have a fork that holds the bottom of the guitar. This fork doesn't fit the inside V portion of the Flying V, and thus, doesn't securely hold the guitar.
This stand supports the guitar from the neck and headstock. The flippers are in the down position when there is no guitar in the stand. When you place the guitar in the stand, the flippers 'flip' horizontal, and the headstock rests on the upper holder while the flippers secure the guitar from falling forward. Its actually a pretty clever design. The back of the guitar rests on an adjustable flip-down bumper that keeps the guitar from literally hanging on the stand. Its well padded and I have no concerns of it scratching or damaging the back of the guitar.
4 stars because initially out of the box the left flipper was not lined up correctly and I had to manually adjust it. And when I say manually adjust it, I mean I had to force the flipper into the correct position. I thought I might break it that way, but it didn't break, and I didn't strip the gear mechanism. The upper holder slides up and down on an extended portion of the upper shaft, so that when you place a guitar in the upper holder, the flippers move horizontally. However due to the loose tolerances of the upper holder, the flippers sometime bound up. I fixed that by liberal application of light duty silicon spray. Now it works perfectly.

Overall an excellent stand. It was expensive. But it is really the only choice for a Flying V. Otherwise I'd have gone with a $10 typical guitar stand.
