I use this mixer to supplement my small PA system when I am doing sound primarily for acoustic sets at small venues (coffee shops). I host open mics once in a while, and it is nice to have gain control on four XLR input channels to deal with all kinds of different instrument input levels. Also, it's nice to be able to control monitor volume independently. It's light, so it is easy to carry. The top layout is nicely organized, and operation is quite intuitive.

Here are the negatives: The effects are no good; practically unusable. The knobs are made cheaply, and seems very easy to get damaged from handling. I just got it last week, and used once. I'll see how long it will last. It supports balanced output, but they only have output for 1/4" plugs. I had to use instrument cables for out put, and got a pretty high static noise from the unbalanced cables. So, I need to by 1/4"-to-XLR conversion cable before using this for the next time.

This mixer is easy to use and when on sale an excellent value. The problems I discovered were with discrepancies in the manual and customer support. The manual states that the RCA inputs can with press of a button can be used to mute all channels and the input will play through the mains. This is need during a gig as filler between breaks. This feature did not work. I email customer service had very difficult time getting answers. Finally I decided to call customer service and they could not validate it should or should not work. Email responses to return questions are blocked by firewall from what appears to be strange email rule from their company SMTP server. Support said they would call me back after talking to engineer. They never called me back. I returned the product and also explained what happened to Guitar Center Staff. Guitar Center Staff were very helpful and I purchased a Behringer mixer instead.

Comments about Harbinger L1202FX 12-Channel Mixer with Effects:

Bought this as a replacement for a home Laptop/Guitar/Synth/Logic Pro set-up. Previously used a Behringer UB1202 (almost sounds like a palindrome) that was on it's last legs. The over-all sound seems to have improved. The effects are a definite plus when just noodling on the guitar and the fact that you can dial in he amount and route to individual faders is a plus. The effects wont replace a dedicated rack unit, but I'd rather have them than not.

Like I said, So far, so good. and a bargain for what it does.

Comments about Harbinger L1202FX 12-Channel Mixer with Effects:

I'm getting another one [ because I plugged into it a hot tip plug, and shorted it out]. My bad. Good price for the year I owned it. Got alot out of it! I tryed to get away with even a less expencive one' but I miss the better sound. This is why I'm driveing to Guitar Center tommorrow to get another one!! Gotta be a little smarter and not get in a hurry to plug in any hot plugs. The effects are perfect for the cd's I mix. They say 'in stock' , so I got my fingers crossed...[Hum,,,,,,good song lyric?] Ha! Ha!

Comments about Harbinger L1202FX 12-Channel Mixer with Effects:

I bought this for my home studio when looking for a small, compact 8 channel mixer. Great price (just under $100). Sometimes you get what you pay for I guess. Upon hooking up and throwing the main fader to unity a very prominent 60 cycle hum was present. I checked all my cables to make sure I didn't have a bad one. Nope. Just a very noisy unit.

I bought this mixer from their used stock. It works perfectly sounds great and has nice effects .
I would have like to see some sort of level control on the tape in/out so you can blend those in better.
        I'd recommend this item .
It's great for home or on the road.

Comments about Harbinger L1202FX 12-Channel Mixer with Effects:

When I expanded from three keyboards to six, I needed to upgrade from my six-channel Yamaha mixer. The Yamaha added a small but acceptable amount of noise, which this does even less. The controls are minimal but that's all I needed. I haven't used the built-in effects and don't plan to -- all I cared was that it had lots of channels for the smallest footprint, and little if any noise. This fit the bill. *keys are run into CPS Spacestation v.3

Bought this For small gigs. Overall, we were very pleased with it, it supported our five piece band without issue. We didn't have problems until we wanted to grow into in ear monitors and backing/click tracks. We discovered the pan features do not work and a significant amount of channel bleed occurs. It's impossible to separate the music track from the click even with a perfectly panned mp3 file playing from a reliable device and program. If you just need to do simple live performance mixing, it's fine, but you cannot grow music tech with this board. I don't recommend.

I shorted-out my last one. [My fault]. I tried another kind that was similar, but the sound was bad. I got rid of the cheaper one, and am happy once again with my Harbinger L1202FX 12 channel compact mixer. My last one went over a year without any trouble,[until I stupidly tried to hook-up a cord that was hot without shutting off its power] and I missed it bad. the sound is great, and every-bit of it is just what my little studio is getting its life from!
