Guild

collapse expand iconDescription

This mid-sized orchestra-shaped acoustic is equally suited for strumming and fingerpicking, and produces a sweet, balanced tone. The perfect choice for the versatile musician, the OM-240CE features a solid Sitka spruce top, mahogany sides, arched mahogany back, and an elegant cutaway for access to higher frets. Guild’s signature arched back design allows for great volume and projection, long sustain and a lush, full sound. The OM-240CE features Guild’s Fishman-designed AP-1 electronics, a pau ferro fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, pearl rosette, period-correct tortoiseshell pickguard and a matte polyurethane finish.

The OM-240CE comes in Natural.

Case sold separately.

The Westerly Collection
The Westerly Collection pays homage to an important period in Guild’s early history, when Guild outgrew the beloved Hoboken, New Jersey factory, and moved production to Westerly, Rhode Island in 1967. Finding a home in a former furniture manufacturing building, Guild took advantage of the additional space the new location had to offer, and improved upon the production layout left behind in Hoboken.

With a fresh start, highly skilled employees, and plenty of room to grow, Guild flourished. It was not long before the Westerly factory became renowned for exceptional craftsmanship, quality, and the introduction of many beloved Guild acoustics. The dedication to innovation was apparent, with meticulous attention to detail. Inspired by this golden era, the Guild Westerly Collection carries on the tradition of impeccable workmanship and unwavering excellence by incorporating high-quality materials and classic Guild designs into each instrument.

Guild Archbacks
Guild began its legacy in 1953 by producing archtop electric guitars for the jazz market in New York city; these guitars were built with arched backs made from pressed laminate maple, a low-cost alternative to hand-carved maple backs typical in jazz guitar construction. As the company grew and began offering flat-top acoustics in 1954, the first models such as the F-30, F-40 and F-50 shared this pressed laminate arched back construction, which became a Guild trademark. Other classic Guilds like the D-25 and F-412, icons of the brand’s history to this day, represent this unique combination of acoustic flat top and arched back guitar construction.

In addition to its classic look and ergonomic comfort, an arched back design prevents the need for the added support of back braces, reducing weight while increasing projection and volume, contributing to the revered Guild sound for which these historic models are so well loved. Guild paid homage to this classic design trademark with a full line of affordable Archback models, available now from the Westerly Collection in sizes ranging from Concert to Jumbo.

Love the sound of it. As a beginner I tried a couple of others and loved it instantly. Tried a couple others but like this one the most.

This is the most comfortable acoustic I've ever played. Very light and great body design. The neck is very comfortable. Overall a great build. The sound is very bright but is also able to handle lower notes very well. Definitely the best acoustic in my collection.

Thank you Guild for an excellent guitar to learn to play better. This guitar sounds like it is being played in a cathedral. All chords and notes reverberate with great clarity and sustain, seeming to last forever. The low action, scalloped bracing, bone nut and saddle and arched back make it sound and play much better than guitars costing more than double. I started playing more than 5 years ago and couldn't play barre chords on my Taylor Academy 12e. The longer scale on my Guild and low action make this instrument much easier to play. Don't let the fact that it is made in China discourage you. The craftsmanship and sound of this guitar is second to none. The price was great for a guitar with all the features you want that will not break the bank and comes with a heavenly sound!

I've had this Guild for about 6 weeks now and I absolutely love it !! It's comfortable to play, sounds absolutely amazing on its own or plugged in. For the price you won't find a better acoustic guitar. I wouldn't say Guilds are underrated because anyone who knows or has played one , knows their quality, but I'd say they're overlooked by many. I'd put Guilds up against any similar model Martin. I know I'll never get rid of mine !!

The only difference between them is one has a cutaway and the other doesn't. It all comes down to personal preference between the two. They are the same guitar otherwise.

The top is solid, but the sides and back are laminate. And there isn't a tuner with this model.
