GT-EL-34M XF2 Dual Getter - Matched Duet
Reproduction of a classic EL-34 XF2 Pair Getter tube.
The GT-EL34M was shown at NAMM. This tube is based upon a tube which is considered something of an icon to EL34 users in both the audio world and guitar amp world. There were a number of variants of the original tube and GT chose the classic XF2 dual getter version to reproduce. This tube is now available in matched quads and duets.
Low-rated tubes have early break-up and distortion, wide range and softer attack good for rock and blues solos. Medium-rated tubes offer normal performance, great dynamic range/attack and are the best all around rating type for all styles of playing. High-rated tubes have the most dynamic range and the most clean power/less break-up for power players, jazz guitarists and bass amps.

Comments about Groove Tubes Gold Series GT-EL34-M Matched Power Tubes:
I bought a matched paired of the Groove Tube EL34M for use in my Headphone Amplifier. The sound is a mixed blessing with a nice natural sounding midrange and fast articulate bass. The Brass also was fast however noticeably brittle or hard, Cymbals sound more like breaking Glass on a polished marble floor. The most disappointing aspect surrounding these tubes for me was the extremely poor customer service I received from Both the Guitar Center and Groove tube. I most often buy from the Internet since I live in a area with no services however with the present economy in such bad shape, I thought I would buy it local this time around. After an 80-mile commute to the Guitar Center for these Tubes, I was content for about 3 weeks where one of the Tubes simply stopped working after operating for less than 2 minutes. No, hum no noise simply as if you unplugged the headphones. So on my next trip to Grants Pass I brought the Tubes with me so as to exchange them for a working pair. I was informed by the Guitar center that they do not guarantee tubes and I would have to send them to groove tubes after requesting from groove tubes and receiving back a return Number them. I always assumed apparently! Incorrectly, that since Groove Tubes have a factory Warranty and since the Guitar center is an Authorized Groove Tube Dealer that I could obtain warranty service by returning the Tubes to the Point of sale. This Experience has Resulted in my going back to buying what I need from the Internet again as the Expense in obtaining warranty service on this item exceeded the cost of buying a new pair of tubes, however, I would buy these or a similar item again from the Guitar center if it was an Emergency and I absolutely needed a item now and it is available and if the item becomes defective and the cost of sending it back to the factory exceeds the New price I will simply discard the item when it becomes defective.

They sound OK while they last. My friend had one of his blow and take his head with it after a week, I had one blow in a week as well, but thankfully it didn't take anything with it. The second set I had was poorly matched. They were 7mV apart. Guitar Center gave me my money back on the blown set.

a nice bright tube, and I love to crank up my amp so I didnt expect these to last over a year, considering how much I play they have surpassed my expectations. i wouldn't buy these if your amp is already bright sounding because then the sound may become brittle.
