collapse expand iconDescription

A great Gretsch name is back with the return of G5022CE Rancher Jumbo Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar. The richly resonant Rancher first appeared in the early 1950s with its highly distinctive triangular sound hole and sweepingly elegant pickguard, and Gretsch is now very proud to re-introduce the model. With a great new selection of body sizes, styles and features that combine the best of the guitar's acclaimed past with the best in modern sound, strength, style and playability, Gretsch now gives you the best of all Ranchers.

The biggest and fullest-sounding Rancher is the G5022CE Rancher Jumbo Cutaway Electric, which produces great volume and broadly expansive tone complemented by its elegant Venetian cutaway for easy access to the fingerboard's upper reaches and onboard electronics that let it be heard even more loudly and clearly. Premium features include a solid spruce top with scalloped X bracing and the traditional Gretsch Rancher triangular sound hole, flame maple back and sides, mahogany neck, 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays, 1940s-style pickguard with Gretsch logo, compensated bridge with rosewood base, gold-plated hardware, deluxe die-cast tuners and a classic gloss Savannah Sunset finish. Onboard Fishman electronics include a Sonicore under-saddle pickup and Isys+ preamp system with onboard tuner, battery life indicator and controls for volume, treble, bass and phase.

Absolutely love this guitar. Has become the most played instrument in the house. Feels great to play, action is closer to my electrics than my other acoustics. The sound is bright and articulate, but doesn't have the low end projection you would expect from a jumbo. Perhaps that is because of the absence of X-bracing on the back body panel? Still sounds great tho. Onboard preamp sounds great, built-in tuner is serviceable. I would like to see tuning machines with a higher ratio because these are quite touchy but stable once in tune. Some of the binding could be tighter but it's only noticable upon very close inspection. After a year of hanging on the wall in a humid region, there are no signs of body warp--not even at the bridge. The angled-back headstock is surprisingly 1 piece, I believe. Neck has required no adjustments. Oh, and I think I just missed out because this guitar is NOT MADE IN THE USA anymore, but how could it be at this price point? Was disappointed to see the China sticker on it, but I'm over it cuz it's still a great guitar. Overall, this guitar ain't perfect but I love it and so do the other folks that have played it. Would highly recommend👍

As always, Gretsch guitars are great. This one is no exception. Plays really well, the pickup works great, and the built-in tuner doesn't hurt either. Fit and finish are gorgeous as always. It's a Gretsch. Expect goodness!

Love this instrument. I'm retired now but played semi-professionally for a number of years and played all sorts of guitars, both acoustic and electric. This one has me baffled. How can they sell an instrument of this quality for this price?! It feels good, looks good and sounds good. Easy to maneuver around the fret board. I couldn't be happier.

I only read one bad review for this guitar. I'm used to Everly Bros.J-185 I used to own. This baby is bigger and better than them. So we are in J-200 country. Included was Fishman pamphlet which was informative. Plug her in... a you may fall in love. (It's my first Gretsch too.)Two Thumbs Up!

With this basically any Jumbo style case will fit. Just make sure it's designed specifically for a Jumbo body style and you should be good.
