Originally released in 1965, the Gibson Non-Reverse Thunderbird Bass has been a favorite among forward-thinking bassists. Known for its unique styling and massive, thunderous tone, the Non-Reverse Thunderbird is perfect for players who want to stand out on stage and in the studio. Now available in Inverness Green and Sparkling Burgundy finishes, the new Gibson USA Non-Reverse Thunderbird brings the powerful sound and unmistakable look of this rare bass back into the spotlight.

Thunderous Tone With Classic Thunderbird Pickups
Equipped with two powerful Thunderbird pickups, the Non-Reverse Thunderbird delivers a deep, rich tone that's perfect for cutting through the mix in any performance setting. Each pickup has its own dedicated volume control, allowing you to blend the neck and bridge pickups for a wide range of tones, from growling lows to punchy mids. A master tone control rounds out the simple yet effective layout, giving you full control over your sound.

Lightweight and Balanced Design With Premium Components
The Non-Reverse Thunderbird features a mahogany body and neck, providing warmth and sustain. The Indian rosewood fingerboard, complete with 20 medium jumbo frets, offers smooth playability. The bass is equipped with a 3-point adjustable bridge for precise intonation and Hipshot Ultralite tuners that keep the headstock weight low, improving overall balance and tuning stability. Whether you're on stage or in the studio, this bass offers a comfortable playing experience with a full range of tonal options.

Designed for Players Who Forge Their Own Path
With its bold non-reverse body shape and distinctive white pickguard featuring the iconic Thunderbird graphic, this bass is made for players who refuse to follow the crowd. The Non-Reverse Thunderbird offers a timeless look with modern playability, perfect for bassists who want a unique instrument that stands out both visually and sonically.

Professional-Grade Construction and Durability
Built to the highest standards, the Non-Reverse Thunderbird is designed to withstand the rigors of touring and studio work. The guitar comes with a hardshell case for added protection, making it a reliable companion for any musician.

I bought this bass about a week ago at the Monterey Park Guitar center. Very helpful employees there. . This Gibson is great. The sound is thick and punchy . Its my first time owning a Gibson bass. I should have got one sooner.

I've been playing bass for 35 years and this is the first Gibson I've ever bought. I wish I hadn't waited so long! This bass is gorgeous, solid as a rock, and has tone for days. The only con is neck dive, but that is true with all Gibsons. Just be prepared. Otherwise, this is a flawlessly built instrument with low end like you wouldn't believe. It was set up well out of the box. Just needs a change of strings.

  • This ones a keeper!!!

I have 5 Fenders, a Rickenbacker, a Martin acoustic & a Peavey Cirrus. The Thunderbird is a perfect addition to my collection. I am so happy I chose this bass to add to my collection of super basses.
