Comments about Gibson Limited Edition Les Paul Traditional Electric Guitar:

I love this guitar. Mine is beautiful. If looks are something you scrutinize, know this: I looked at 5 of these before settling on the one I bought. This finish with this series of maple tops has a tendency to allow the brown to come through the finish. It actually ends up being little pinkish brown areas. It would only be noticeable at a close look, but none the less it's there. Some guitars are more pronounced than others. I wanted a BLUE burst finish, so I looked around. I found one that is very minimal and has more flame than normal AA. AA+ if you will. I repeat. It is gorgeous. The pick ups are hot like you would expect from burst buckers. They are bright but dial back the tone and the middle and neck positions give you that rich creamy Les Paul sound. It's a solid piece of wood like the old school standards. Exactly what I wanted.

Comments about Gibson Limited Edition Les Paul Traditional Electric Guitar:

I've waited for the opportunity to purchase a real Gibson Les Paul for 35 years. I've played since I was 15. In 2011, I bought my son a Gibson Les Paul Standard after he completed 5 years of lessons. Sadly, he died last June at the age of 21 from a fentanyl overdose. He died in my ex-wife's basement. His Les Paul Standard disappeared. I kinda gave up playing when his talent surpassed my own when he was 15. I was able to recover the American Standard Stratocaster and his Martin D-16RGT. I started taking weekly lessons a few months ago. Last week I purchased a 2018 Gibson Les Paul Traditional Heritage Cherry Sunburst at one of the area Guitar Centers. It was supposed to be brand new. I even got the shipping box with matching serial number. When I got it home and under different light, I noticed a big dent just above the D sting tuner on the tip of the headstock. I was afraid that if it broke off, I'd end up with a $2600 Epiphone! We have three separate Guitar Centers in the St. Louis area. The furthest one from me had another in Cherry Sunburst so I drove 45 minutes. I looked at that one and it was scratched on the back. I was offered $150 back so being tired and frustrated I took the deal.
This past Sunday, I drove to my local Guitar Center and had the puck gaurd installed. That's when this beautiful instrument first caught my eye. Over the past two days, I've been obsessed. I'm a huge Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page fan but this color and flamed maple top are incredible.
I have a friend who owns a 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty. This 2018 and the 1969 are so very similar in weight, neck profile and wiring. Both this new Les Paul and the 1969 Les Paul use Sprague capacitors on the tone pots. I love the vintage tuners. I know that my son would approve.

Comments about Gibson Limited Edition Les Paul Traditional Electric Guitar:

I've played guitar for over 20 years and wanted a guitar that sounded and played well without having to worry about it getting damaged if I take it to the beach, camping, play it outside, let my relatives children play it, etc. This is an excellent guitar for the price. It worked perfectly right out of the box. I tuned it up and plugged it in, and it sounded and played great.

Comments about Gibson Limited Edition Les Paul Traditional Electric Guitar:

I went to look at a PRS and I tried this les Paul. Really loved the color and pickups. Spunky and warm, and no weight relief. It feels like an older les Paul and really drives through a head nicely. I use a VOX ac 30 to gig with, and it's a really great pair. I can say that I was resistant to buying a Gibson, but I am pleasantly surprised and very happy with what I got. I'm not a huge fan of the new standards, so the fact that I could get this color as a traditional was perfect! Thanks for reading.

Comments about Gibson Limited Edition Les Paul Traditional Electric Guitar:

I was in the market for a Gibson Les Paul and I wanted something that was full on genuine. I looked at several guitar and decided that though all were great they were also very different. I wanted mine to feel and sound like what you would imagine a Les Paul to sound like. I tried out the 2018 studio and even the standard and while they are fantastic guitars they reminded me so much of just the common electric guitar. The build quality and feel was of the charts but in my mind I couldn't justify it because I felt like I could just change the current pickups and my current rig and have a similar sound. I ended up settling on the 2018 Traditional Les Paul in Blueberry Burst.
First off this is just as the name says traditional like they built them 50-60's era Les Paul. The sound is absolutely fantastic with the BB1 and BB2 pickups, really focuses on the vintage rock tone. The body is slightly heavier than the other models but feels sturdy and durable. The neck profile I was very scared of at first as I didn't want a baseball bat or even close to one. The neck feels excellent in my hand and reminds me of maybe a thinner acoustic guitar neck, it hugs your hand but is thin and not bulky but not as thin as the slim taper but feels close. The guitar is quality all around as you hold it and pay attention to the details in the binding, setup, tuners, finish etc... you can see its a very well built instrument. I have tuned the guitar once and have played it several times (4-5) and it is still in tune (checked with a tuner of course) despite the reputation of the G string going out on Les Paul. The Blueberry Burst (GC & MF Only) I really suggest looking at a few before you buy one, I got mine online and got a nice looking one but I did travel and look at others in comparison. All in all it is an excellent guitar the price is a little on the higher end but worth it if too high maybe get a 2017.
