I'm mainly a keyboard player but I love guitar and own about 10 different acoustics and electrics of varying quality from budget to high but I honestly never thought I could afford or justify a Gibson. That was until I realized I could get a real USA Gibson for under a grand. From the moment I opened the box and unzipped the nicely padded leather style gig bag with the nice big red Gibson logo I knew I had made the right choice. It looks, feels and sounds great. I find the action very good right out of the box and the fit and finish is excellent. I read the one review here that calls it junk and it makes me wonder if we're actually talking about the same guitar because this guitar feels better quality than most of my other guitars (the closest being my 50th anniversary American Std Strat). The only issue I have with the LP is that it seems to have a little trouble staying in tune. I haven't had it setup yet so I'll reserve judgement until I have that done. But all in all I'm very happy with it and would recommend this guitar to anyone else who like me might never have thought they could afford a Gibson.

Love the neck and pickups and sound. Hate the fret ends. Came with chipped volume knob, lousy setup, and g string tuner problems. Waiting for gibson to help me with these issues. If they don't I will buy not buy another gibson. But i LOVE the 490 Pickups and the feel of the neck. Nothing sounds like a gibby.

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Tribute T 2017 Electric Guitar with Soft Case:

Absolutely junk. Out of the box it looks and feels cheap. I compared it to my epiphone custom pro that was 1/2 the price not comparing looks because the epiphone is absolutely beautiful. But Gibson should be ashamed of putting out something so dreadful. The frets are horrible, would not stay in tune. Knobs very cheap electronics. Pickups are the only thing I liked they are hotter than the Gibson pro buckers but for 1/2 the cost you can get a high end epiphone with coil taps and phase. Plus a really nice neck.

Save your money and buy a higher end or buy an epiphone custom pro and upgrade the pickups if you so choose for less than the cost of this junk

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Tribute T 2017 Electric Guitar with Soft Case:

I didn't buy mine new. I traded an American Standard Telecaster for it when the LP was less than a month old. It has no issues. Fret ends are perfectly smooth, action is low, plays wonderfully. Finish is nice, but not crazy about satin. I have a 2011 Gibson Nighthawk, 1992 Gibson Classic LP, 1987 MIJ Strat, and a backup Epi LP that never leaves the case. The Tribute is my go to guitar. I have played for 58 years, and owned some of (what is now) the finest vintage guitars, and some boutique high end gear. This ranks well up into the high end as one of my all time favorites.

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Tribute T 2017 Electric Guitar with Soft Case:

I sold an older Gibson Les Paul Studio, 50 year anniversary series, and used the money towards this purchase (less trade in value taxes). When it arrived, I was contacted from the luthier notifying me of a blemish as this unit was on display at a Kansas City store. The manager negotiated some cash off, and the luthier tuned her up and did a set up for me as well. This is by far my favorite electric guitar I've owned when I want to play classic rock. Some blues is better on my Fender Strat, but as for Gibson's this one rocks!

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Tribute T 2017 Electric Guitar with Soft Case:

This is one of three guitars I use regularly, but it's my first Les Paul. I had to get used to the weight, as it's considerably heavier than my arch top or my acoustic. The original strings are a bit lighter than I prefer so I changed to my favorite "B B King" 10-54's which enhance the lower tones even more. The fret board is easy and fast, and even without the binding it's a beautiful instrument. Have absolutely enjoyed it.

I love this guitar! The neck feels just right, the action is low, right outta the box. The Humbuckers are powerful, and sound great. Easy to play, beautiful, satin finish, and I like the light Mahogany back, sides, and neck. I have 2 other Gibson's, and a Strat, I think this one will be my new number one! The new style Gibson "leather look" soft case seems very well made, well padded, looks good, and you almost don't need a hardshell case. I bought one anyways to protect this beauty.

have played guitar over 40 years and have owned over 35 gibson les pauls and countless epiphones. from gibson customs to standards and everywhere in between. this is the 1st gibson les paul that i have fallen in love with. it plays very well, sounds good, looks good and stays in tune. i have always had tuning issues with gibsons, but not this one. i can go a week without having to touch the tuning. the best epiphone you can find does not compare to a gibson for sound. period! a few years ago i promised myself i would never buy another gibson, im extremely glad i did get this one.

Bought this Les Paul Tribute from Guitar Center just recently. Had a Graphtech XL nut installed and a pro set up by my local awesome luthier right off the bat. I've been a Telecaster guy for years, never picked up an LP that felt right or sounded good. This was the exception (understatement). Great neck, frets, pickups - satin gold top sexy as h***. I feel bad for my Tele because I can't put this dang thing down. Unbelievable guitar for the money.
