Comments about Gibson Les Paul Tribute 2018 - Solid Body Electric Guitar:

As a full-time pro musician (retired from gigging after 41 years) I was curious as to how this model stacked up to the many Les Pauls I've owned and played over the years. It's the real deal. They've saved you a ton off the price of American craftsmanship by simply not binding the neck and body or giving all those extra coats of lacquer, but the weight, feel and sound of the instrument remains true to its legacy. Well done Gibson. Lowered the action myself a bit without any fret buzz, so they may be rushing with the final setup or using newer trainees, but this is minor stuff. You don't need to send production overseas when management gets creative and figures out a way to keep American workers busy by offering loyal customers a beautiful, high quality, affordable American instrument without all the bells and whistles. Thanks for an excellent guitar!

      AMAZING INSTRUMENT

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Tribute 2018 - Solid Body Electric Guitar:

Ok, I sold all of My Gibson's 10 years back...just went crazy with their pricing, and the quality was heading south. Replace them with Epiphones ( which are all wonderful) But then yesterday, My "Dealer" known as a "Sales Associate" let Me know that one of these had arrived, and I went to the store and played it. SOunds like a MUCH older and expensive instrument! Fit and finish are perfect...not good...PERFECT! The case is an amazing piece of gear in itself, half way between case and gig bag, brown pleather, and robust.
Gibson has done something to earn folk's trust (dollars) and today they got mine! I haven't played a Gibson of this quality in a very, very long time!
So far , I have played theis through a Fender Super Champ XS, a Tweed Blues Jr, a Black Face Deluxe Reverb, and a Marshall 3203 Artist head and 4 x 10 cabinet.....It is wonderfully consistent in tones,,,also included is case candy a LEATHER Gibson branded strap wrenches, allen key polishing cloth, the poker chip (nice get) and even a color pic of My guitar on the exam bench. The inspection card is signed by the Tech who performed the checks.....talk about impressed, I am.
The are having a party in Nashville, and Gibson is setting the pace!

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Tribute 2018 - Solid Body Electric Guitar:

I've played this guitar daily since it arrived about a month ago. I'm an experienced guitarist. As far as GLPs are concerned, I also own a 2001 Gibson Les Paul Standard, a 2016 R8, and a 2016 R9, so naturally I've compared this Tribute to those guitars. My opinion of this Tribute is that it's simply fantastic. It resonates extremely well. The satin neck is a real joy to play. The pickups are comparable to the 2001 Standard - I think they're great. I think that this guitar is more affordable, than say a GLP Standard, because not as much labor time has been put into the cosmetic finishing (the maple top won't be AAAA, for example - the fretboard isn't bound like it would be on a Standard, etc.). The quality of materials and construction, however. is great. This is every bit as solid of an instrument as it's much more expensive brothers, and in fact, if you like a satin neck over a gloss neck, you might actually prefer this guitar over it's more expensive brothers. Over the last month, out of the 12+ quality instruments I own, this is the guitar I find myself reaching for again and again. I wish it came with a hard case, but the soft case is the best soft case I've ever seen. Anyway, this is a great guitar.

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Tribute 2018 - Solid Body Electric Guitar:

The guitar is a 5* for sure. I ordered it online and picked it up in store. That was also flawless. However, it had high frets and bad intonation -- from the factory -- and GC and when I asked about it, I was told they would set it up... for a price. That was pretty weak. Even the local mom-pop shop will do a free setup with guitar purchase. So if you're looking for more personal service, try the local shops. If you just want to get the guitar and get out quick , use GC. Not a bad thing, really.

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Tribute 2018 - Solid Body Electric Guitar:

I like electrics that "speak" with a loud voice when unplugged, and this one has it in spades. You can really feel the bodyguard reverberate when you play it. It sings. The pickups hold a really wide variety of electric interpretations of the guitar's outstanding voice - from biting to a buttery smooth Clapton-y "woman tone". Large variety of clean sounds from jazzy round to sparkling clean. And the punchy pickups overdrive beautifully. Yep, it's the undeniably forceful classic Les Paul rock tone. This is my new favorite electric guitar. (I have a lot of nice guitars).

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Tribute 2018 - Solid Body Electric Guitar:

This was my first Gibson purchase. The finish is amazing. Both the gold top and the honey burst look great in person and I had a hard time choosing which one I wanted because they both played so well, but I ended up getting the honey burst.

The case is great and even though the poker chip was not installed you do get one in the case should you choose to install it later.

As far as playing, the neck feels great. Both clean and dirty the guitar sounds crisp and bright. Roll some volume and tone off for some good jazz or blues licks.

My two gripes are that there are no locking tuners and the finish selection is limited. But really those gripes don't affect playability at all too much.

Just got the guitar tonight. I couldn't be more impressed for the money!! I've owned a Gibson LP faded about 8 years ago..I upgraded the pickups but I never liked it...I had a great Agile LP and it had a nice clean tone....and I currently have a nice Epiphone LP Tribute Plus - well made and decent tone....BUT I never could get that famous Les Paul tone & sustain till now. I'm really impressed with this Les Paul...great value and everything I've been looking for in a LP. I'm very happy with the pickups too...easy to do pinch harmonics.....I'll need to setup the guitar but it's definitely a keeper.

This a fantastic guitar! Beautiful finish, great tones, the neck is perfect. Playing thei a Fender Blues Jr Nos. Strap this on and go for a ride in the Comos! The only part that I am having trouble is that seems to slip out of tune. I just got it and have not had it set up yet. It was set up at the factory but I think. it needs to be tweaked a little. Other than why are you reading this and not at the store buying it.

Haven't bought the guitar but I was just there about an hour ago. Great guitar for the money. I love the look and feel. It is heavy like a Les Paul should be. I own two Les Pauls, I would add this one to the collection. I recommend this guitar to anyone wanting a Gibson Les Paul with great tone.

I would consider myself an intermediate guitar player. I picked up this model in goldtop about a week ago. I own several other Les Paul studios and a 70's tribute. In my opinion this is the best model in the under $1,500 price range.

I won't waste your time going into detail about the sound and feel. Simply put it sounds and feels better than it should. Fit and finish is nearly perfect. Read some of the other reviews for specifics as they've done a good job. Bottom line, if you're in the market for a new Les Paul under the $1,500 range go with the Tribute model over the current year's faded or studio models. Just my two cents, take it or leave it.

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Tribute 2018 - Solid Body Electric Guitar:

I really enjoy this guitar, and it sounds great, and it plays well. I would give it five stars but it needs a set up, and there is some fret sprout. Despite that I knew what to expect for the price, but I know when smooth out the problems I am going to really love it more.
