Pulled the trigger on a Carribean blue studio deluxe today. It's absolutely beautiful. Will Baker at Guitar Center in Cary, NC was awesome. Perfectly setup and intonated. I get chills every time I look at it and realize it's MINE! Yeah it does clean tones on the neck pickup with warmth and who cares? This axe was made to rock and folks, it absolutely does that. Dime the gain and volume on the bridge and an A chord will make your hair stand on end. For days. The tone is thick, articulate and will melt your face by diming the volume. I was immediately a better player as soon as I laid hands on it. Stop messing around with the rest and get the machine that created the hard rock riff. Okay, fingers stopped bleeding, gonna go play some more! Peace!

Immediately I had problems with it out of the box, looked to have some neck damage due to truss rod not being set up correctly at Gibson. The neck bends way too easily and this requires a lot more work than any Fender I've owned. If the neck is not set up perfectly then you can't do anything since it's a set piece. Paint job could be better, laquer was very thin in spots looking more natural than painted. The knobs were not level, a couple got stuck in the pushed out position. Overall felt very cheap for a $1,300 purchase like lesser quality than if I bought a $700 guitar. I don't recommend Gibson if you don't want to constantly do set ups, where I get my guitars worked in the guy said by far he makes the most off Gibson players because they always require something. Headstock is the main reason. Sold it and learned my lesson. Gibson has poor quality recently unless you spend $2,000 or higher.

Gibson USA at a great price

By Andrew.L

from Massachusetts

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Studio Deluxe IV Electric Guitar:

I recently purchased this guitar from my local guitar center, and it has not disappointed! First of all the pictures do not do either of the colors justice, I am not impressed with how the colors look online, and I wouldn't have purchased it based on what is on the website, but in person both colors are stunning (I ended up getting the blue one) and the guitar plays amazingly! I've never owned a les paul, and for someone who can't afford a standard, this is about as close as you are gonna get at this price range. The controls are weird for me and I am still getting used to them, but with the coil splits you really can play most genres of music, and the booster is great for leads. If you are thinking of buying one of these and have never played a les paul before, I highly suggest going to a guitar center and playing one even if it's not this one because they are different than a lot of other guitars and aren't for everyone, but as far as les Paul's go this is an amazing guitar for the price. I highly recomend this guitar to anyone who wants a Gibson standard quality guitar at a fraction of the price

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Studio Deluxe IV Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar because of the finish and versatility the push/push and decibal boost circuit offered. I noticed once I got home that the tone knob for the neck pickup wasnt acting right. If you sweep knob in either direction sometimes it wouldnt make a difference and other times it would actually work. The tone would go from muffled to crystal clear in the middle of playing as if i was turning the knob myself even though I wasnt. Also, the knob pops and cracks like crazy when using it. Gibson CS is sending me a new knob and circuit board and having a GC tech install it for free on Gibsons behalf so I cant complain. Things like this happen but its still inconvenient for this to happen. It is still a great guitar at a wonderful value, i would recommend it anyway.

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Studio Deluxe IV Electric Guitar:

Love the color (Caribbean Night) Burst Bucker 2 and 3 with coil split are wonderful. The 10 dB boost is especially useful when going from Humbucker to single coil to keep volume constant but change tone.
The neck on this thing is about as good as it gets Minor tug on the truss rod to suite my anal needs and a perfect working players guitar that plays as nice as it looks. Highly recommend this value priced USA Gibson

Like a dressed down Standard for a fraction of the price.

By MetaBol

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Studio Deluxe IV Electric Guitar:

Unfortunately had to exchange the first Les Paul. The pick-up rings were warped to the extent that the neck pickup ring was almost touching the strings. Both rings needed to be replaced. This should have been a warning, but the sound, action and overall quality feel of the guitar is intoxicating. Two other issues I noticed immediately were fret buzz and the push-pull boost pot would not stay in the down position without pushing it multiple times. The tech fixed the fret buzz with a truss rod adjustment and oiled the pots. I took the guitar home with a big smile on my face. After getting it home, I started noticing a couple of other issues; the G string (alone) constantly went out of tune and the nut had a hairline crack in its side (probably related to the tuning issue). Fortunately Guitar Center has an excellent 45 day no questions asked return/exchange policy. All in all, for what the guitar costs it should have been in perfect shape. I do not know how long this one sat in the store before I bought it, but it needed to go back. The employees at the Selden, NY Guitar Center are awesome. Totally professional, understanding and helpful. They didn't have another of the same model in stock, so they ordered a new one and it arrived in five days. I was there when the box was opened and this one needed only to be tuned. I've had it home now for two weeks and it's literally perfect. I'm really impressed by the range of tones I can get and this one stays in tune. My main guitar has been my '85 Strat and I've wanted a Les Paul for a long time. If you're like me looking to add that unmistakable Gibson sound to your playing, this guitar is what you're looking for. Other than the bling, I feel this Les Paul is every bit as good as a Standard, especially if you can pick it up on sale. A grand or fifteen hundred for a dressed down Les Paul Standard - buy, it you wont be sorry.

By Showtime

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Studio Deluxe IV Electric Guitar:

I have been playing music for 45 years and have owned many a Gibson and Fender guitars, but I must say the 2017 Gibson models are about the best I have ever played. I have both a 2017 Green Burst Classic and now this stunning Caribbean Night Les Paul Deluxe IV. The fact that this has coil splitting and a 10 dB boost make it the perfect combination for live events.

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Studio Deluxe IV Electric Guitar:

This is my son's 4th electric (Squier Jr, Squier, Stratocaster) (plus a couple of acoustics and a cello). My son found it sitting in its stand with a broken neck at the headstock. It turns out the Gibson Les Paul headstock design is known for its weakness and susceptibility to breaking. "Was it ever dropped or bumped, even in its case?" We heard that question a lot through the store, through Gibson service reps, et al. Do a web search on Les Paul headstock breaks. My son treated this guitar more delicately than all his other instruments. This one broke. Gibson will not do a warranty repair, so if you purchase, you definitely should consider the Pro-Coverage warranty. This iconic guitar design is brittle.

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Studio Deluxe IV Electric Guitar:

I love this guitar. I cannot say enough positive things about it. It is my favorite one in my collection. It is very similar to a Les Paul Traditional Pro IV without as step a price tag. The guitar holds its tuning very well now that the strings are broken in. On numerous occasions, I have picked it up after it has hung around for a week while I played one of my other guitars and when I went to tune it, I found it was still in tune. It has such rich, warm tones, yet can still play Sabbath with that sinister sound when called upon. It will always be my go to guitar (along with my Sabbara Cadabara pedal) for Sabbath tunes. I have gotten numerous comments from people on the unusual color for a Gibson. They say they have never seen the color before. I was later informed that it was because it was a Guitar Center exclusive model. That also explained why it had many of the nice Traditional Pro IV features at a less expensive price. It was part of their marketing, so they put a little extra in. So far, I cannot think of anything negative to say about the guitar. It is always a pleasure to return to playing it after I have been playing one of my other guitars. The guitar comes with a beautiful, tan Gibson logo fitted hard case that I have not been able to find anywhere else.

I absolutely love this guitar. The pictures don't do it justice. I think of it less as an instrument and more of a work of art. It sounds wonderful as well, with a thick warm tone. I had some reservations about spending northward of a grand on it, but I'm happy I did - totally worth it.

Comments about Gibson Les Paul Studio Deluxe IV Electric Guitar:

Got this guitar delivered to my local store from another store, so I didn't actually see it before I pulled the trigger on the purchase. I ordered the Caribbean Night and heard some "buyer beware" stories. Right out the box, this guitar took my breath away. What an amazing color and great looking guitar! The strings were rusted and a bit high off the neck, but the in-store guitar tech took care of that problem right away. Plugged it in and it scream and sang just as I expected it would. The additional features (boost circuit on the neck treble knob, and the double-to-single coil splits on each volume know) will take some getting used to - but I'm sure that will come the more I play it. If I never use those features, it's still an awesome guitar with a kick-A sound! Highly recommend this guitar if you want a that classic Gibson Les Paul (Slash) sound and look, but don't want to spend too much money (i.e. over 2 grand).

This guitar caught my eye at the very top of the rack. As soon as I picked it up I knew it was mine. It was a closeout with 500 off the online price. They even gave me a reasonable price on my trade in. I scored big time. This is the loudest gibson I have and the tone is excellant. The neck plays perfect too. Never overlook GC closeout prices.
