Comments about Gibson Explorer 2018 Electric Guitar:

Ex-professional, previous versions were workhorses in my performing days. The 2018 seems to be even better, just haven't tested it on stage.

Comments about Gibson Explorer 2018 Electric Guitar:

I own a strat and a les pau standard...This guitar is miles head of bot of them. It plays amazing and the pickups are so hot but mellow out when you want them to. It;s an amazing guitar and a fair price.

Comments about Gibson Explorer 2018 Electric Guitar:

I have several guitars including an Alex Lifeson Memphis Les Paul and this is by far the best guitar I have ever played. The only way to describe this fretboard is fast and roomy. The fretboard and string spacing feel slightly wider than all my other guitars it also feels slightly flatter which seems to improve my speed and acuracy. I have never gone to the trouble to write a review about any purchase but I had to about this guitar. Gibson got this one right. The tone is out of this world. When you think of the difference in the growl and attitude between a Telecaster and a Les Paul there is about the same amount of difference between a Les Paul and this guitar. But it can also be used for sparkling clean country licks. I can't put it down.

Comments about Gibson Explorer 2018 Electric Guitar:

In my opinion Gibson made some poor business decisions in 2014 with a 29% price increase. 2015 tried to force auto tuners. 2016 lowered the price back down but stop including hard shell cases with many of the models and made some of guitars smaller to fit in gig bags. Because of this I explored other options and purchased both a fender Strat and Tele. In 2017 Gibson got it right again, reasonable prices, included the cases again and after playing them I was reminded that I will always be a Gibson guy. I traded both Fenders in on a Firebird, Flying V and later purchased the cherry red Explorer. When I saw the 2018 natural Explorer I played it and loved how the burst buckers sounded. They are not as hot as my 2017 but sounded incredible and I loved the feel of the guitar. Needless to say I had to have it. Once again quality and craftsmanship is outstanding so if you have read reviews complaining about quality and are worried about it , don't be. The past two years Gibson has won me back. Buy from a reputable dealer and if there is a problem they will take care of you. GC has one of the best return or exchange policies in the business.

Comments about Gibson Explorer 2018 Electric Guitar:

Bought this guitar from Michael in the Guitar Center East Brunswick store - great guitar, beautiful KOA, sounds great, looks great. The Expression 2 System brings out the accurate sound of the guitar as well. Been using an 814CE Taylor as my gig guitar but this one I think will replace it at half the price.

Comments about Gibson Explorer 2018 Electric Guitar:

The sound is amazing and the feel too. I had to order factory replacement for a store damaged one and sad as it is the quality was sacrificed when they selected the wood on the body. There is a knot right in the center of the upper wing and the coloration is not too consistent. I think this is only one out of a tiny percentage of these guitars with this sort of thing, most of them look as beautiful as they sound and feel.
