Overview

This Les Paul Classic 2017 comes in an exclusive finish. It riffs on the beloved guitars of the '60s and '70s while adding modern upgrades for tone and playability, yielding a true Classic with contemporary twists. A Grade-A plain maple top on a mahogany back with 9-hole weight relief combine for subtle beauty with enhanced resonance and superb playing comfort.

The solid-mahogany neck has a fast slim-taper profile, a thicker rosewood fingerboard with 22 super-smooth polished frets for easy bends, and a genuine nylon nut. Zebra '57 Classic humbuckers with orange drop tone caps ensure sultry PAF-like voicings, while a nickel wired ABR bridge and aluminum stop bar combine for solid sustain.

Gibson USA gently rolls the fingerboard binding for a neck that never felt so good, and Grover locking kidney tuners provide an accurate and long-lasting performance. Gold speed knobs add an elegant touch. Delivered in a classic Gibson brown hardshell case with a Gibson multi-tool, a premium leather strap, and a polishing cloth.

Beautiful Guitar

By Classy Classic

from Kissimmee, Fl.

Comments about Gibson 2017 Les Paul Classic Electric Guitar:

I was looking at a Les Paul Studio, and I saw this Classic hanging on the top rack. The fit and finish was great, they brought this model back to "Classic" with no coil splitting, '57 Humbuckers with orange drop capacitors. It plays so smooth, the neck fits my hands perfectly.
It doesn't have the flamed top, but there are so many of them (my other one included) it's nice to see the standard top. Bottom line, I love it.

Love this guitar

By Scott

from Louisville, KY

Comments about Gibson 2017 Les Paul Classic Electric Guitar:

I have always likes the Les Paul Classic from the time they first released them in the early 90's (I think). I have had Standards a Deluxe and even a tribute but until now I haven't owned a Les Paul Classic. This guitar for me is the Holy Grail. I know that's a bit over the top but I no longer have the need for a new guitar. This one seems to have cured me. My wife is sure happy about that. I can't rule out a relapse sometime in the future but for now I have the guitar I really wanted.

Comments about Gibson 2017 Les Paul Classic Electric Guitar:

My cons, are just general comments. After I changed the strings, PERFECT. Also, make sure you have THEM set it up .... Of course, they don't do a thorough setup ... Just truss rod adjustment, and inttonation ... No nut work, no magnetic pole adjustments, no PUP adjustments ... You might consider going to a Luthier .... HOWEVER - It REALLY is a beautiful guitar, and sounds really nice. I AM, however, going to exchange it for a brand new one OUT of the box, ordered online.... I think it's worth doing that since these guitars sit out on the floor and everybody and their granny plays them .... Just say'n....

The ONLY other thing with this particular model to note, is that it's a Guitar Center Exclusive ... In otherwords, Gibson manufactures this guitar specifically for GC .... The Ocean Green Classic T is an actual Gibson Production Model .... So ... Just know the difference because maybe you want a production model instead .... According to Gibson, and I spoke with them - They BOTH, are made with the same quality attention .... AND MINE probably just had people messing with it ... That's why I want one BRAND NEW out of the box..... Period.....

Comments about Gibson 2017 Les Paul Classic Electric Guitar:

I play in a heavier style band. This guitar's sustain is sick, which it should be since this guitar is heavy as heck. Overall has good stock pickup, good tone, and an amazing finish. This guitar is a looker in person

Comments about Gibson 2017 Les Paul Classic Electric Guitar:

I've played in several bands for over 20 years + and have been a Strat player forever. I wanted a classic 80s humbucker sound with great tone for soloing and rhythm from another perspective other than a Stratocaster. I contemplated getting this guitar or another less expensive Les Paul with the P90 pickups. After playing this one, I just felt like it was the perfect one. The intonation was good, it looks amazing and the tone was terrific. I will let one of my friends adjust the bridge for me. From his inspection, he said that the action could be a little lower and that was all he could find. I say that this one could very well be a classic for sure in the future. Especially if it's a limited edition. I say get into your local GTC and check one out if you're on the fence. It's a matter of personal preference also. My decision was mine. I'm estatic!!!

After owning and playing Telecasters, Strats and PRS Custom and SE, while not perfect this guitar is the best electric guitar for tone, switching and get'n it done.
