Gibson Custom Les Paul Special Double-Cut Figured Maple Top VOS Electric Guitar Cobra Burst
Description
The Gibson Custom Les Paul Special Double Cut Figured Maple Top VOS takes you back to the golden era with its vintage-inspired design, while incorporating modern upgrades for enhanced tone and playability. Whether you're a traditionalist or a modern player seeking classic vibes, this iconic double-cut will inspire you with its premium look, feel and sound.
Striking Vintage Looks With a Figured Maple Top
This Les Paul's stunning AAA figured maple top immediately catches the eye with its mesmerizing grain patterns. The beautiful top sits over a resonant mahogany body, recreating the classic tonewood combination that made the originals so revered. Vintage-style fingerboard binding adds an extra touch of elegance. A nitrocellulose lacquer finish not only looks phenomenal but allows the guitar to breathe and age gracefully over years of playing. Every inch of this instrument's aesthetic exudes vintage vibe while retaining modern playability.
Comfortable Vintage Neck Profile and Playability
Rounding out the vintage-meets-modern appeal is the neck profile and overall playability. The hand-rolled vintage fingerboard binding provides a broken-in feel right out of the case. The '60s-style neck profile offers a familiar, comfortable grip that's ideal for chording while still allowing effortless string bends. Vintage Tall frets let you bend strings with ease. From the first time you pick it up, this guitar plays like a well-loved classic while offering modern levels of resonance, sustain and tuning stability.
Custombuckers Deliver Articulate, Dynamic Tones
At the heart of this guitar's tone are a pair of Gibson's highly regarded Custombuckers. These premium humbuckers stay true to the PAF heritage while offering increased clarity and articulation. You'll notice an enhanced dynamic response as you dig in, with the ability to go from warm, rounded rhythms to wailing leads with ease. The Custombuckers also have an airy, three-dimensional quality that breathes life into your playing. Plugged straight into your favorite amp, these pickups will make you feel like you're transported to a 1960s recording session.
Precise Tuning and Sustain With the ABR-1 Bridge
Contributing to the guitar's vintage-inspired yet modern feel is the ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece. This hardware setup pairs the tone and sustain of a vintage Tune-O-Matic with the tuning stability of a modern design. Intonation is easy to set and stays locked in place even with aggressive string bends and tremolo use. The solid ABR-1 bridge transfers string energy straight into the body for enhanced resonance and singing sustain. It's the perfect bridge for everything from warm jazz tones to wailing rock leads.

At first, I was surprised at how "aged" the finish was. These online stock photos do NOT capture the extent of the COS treatment. Then... I was blown away at the tone & feel of this FINE instrument. No adjustments needed. Zero. I have owned and traded somewhere in the neighborhood of 250+ guitars, ranging from $300-$9,000..and this one is legitimately special. I'm never getting rid of it. Everyday I'm amazed at the versatility of sound that it can produce (with even the slightest adjustments)!! The exceptional quality and unique tone of this sweet guitar captivated me. Truly!

This has a very heavy VOS treatment. You'd want to know this going into purchasing one! The finish is cloudy, and it does not glisten anywhere. ALL of the hardware is tarnished-even the pickguard screws & the strings. And I'm here to say..I love that whole vibe. BTW, I picked the 'CobraBurst'. As far as playability goes, it has a great neck (not too thick not too thin). The body is not an archtop, and the weight/balance feels just right with no neck dive. And WOW..the custom buckers, at least on mine, pack some real PUNCH. *Note: I played another at GC a few months ago, & it did not sound nearly as aggressive. Either way, things calm right down once you just barely peel back the volume and switch to the neck pup. It can even be a lil' jazzy!! As long as you're OK with the vintage/aged finish, I truly believe you'd be very happy with this extremely versatile and super playable double-cutaway LP. Plus...it's a pretty uncommon guitar, and EVERYBODY who sees it wants to pick it up and riff out. Ha ha!!

Hi, wondering how to receive photos of a blemished guitar. I am told it is at the MO warehouse. Item #L54668005002001 It is also labeled as an open box level 2? I don't see an explanation for what level 2 denotes? Anyway to have photos sent to my email posted below? I am one of those weirdos who likes to know what he's buying. Thanks!
I’m sorry, we don’t know what the blemish is. The blemishes will be perhaps minor scratches, average handling wear. There will be no effect on playability or sound. BLEMISHED: Gear returned in great condition, with only minor signs of use, such as slight scuffs or pick marks. It looks and plays like new and may be considered an equivalent to display units found in retail stores. Includes 45-Day, No-Hassle Returns Includes full manufacturer's warranty Includes 2-Year Free Warranty on all guitars and basses Gold coverage plan available for 1 or 2 years coveragesubmitted5 years ago
