The only downside for me was I got the 12.5mm instead of the 10. I wasn't sure what the measurements meant when I ordered. I think guitar center should have done a better job in the description. That measurement is the diameter of the actual L rod that your drum mounts to. That said, I made it work. I have a Tama Artstar kit, and after trying to mount this I realized what I should have gotten was the 10mm. I got the drum on, but I couldn't get the memory lock on because of the larger diameter of this rod. I don't travel or gig, and I only move my drums once every few years, so I can deal without one memory lock. If you gig a lot this could cause you headaches. Make sure you match the size to the actual mounting rod on your set before you order and you'll be fine. This arm looks and feels bulletproof. I will be getting 3 more of these for the rest of my toms. I have always had good experience with Gibraltar.

  • Ordered another one for my 12" rack tom.

Purchased this tom arm to replace the Yamaha tom arm for my 10" tom that wouldn't hold position any more. Gibralter tom arms are heavy duty, holds the toms in position and they look great too!

After playing for 30 years, I finally swtiched to a rack system (Gibraltar) and wish I had done this years earlier! The Gibraltar tom arms are heavy duty and easy to adjust.

This product is just fantastic! I've been playing drums for 20 years. I have never had a problem with this product or any other from Gibraltar. These tom arms are fully ajustable and stay in position no matter what. I recomend this product to everyone, and thanks as always to the online Guitar Center staff and my friends at my local Guitar Center store!

Will the tube fit the receiving end of a cymbal stand or snare stand to use as a base to free mount the tom ?

As long as the cymbal or snare stand has a 7/8" opening than theoretically it should work.
