This device has caused my songwriting/creativity go to another level that I have never experienced before! In fact, with the use of this equipment in the homestudio, it has caused another problem! Not enough time to write the new songs being downloaded into my spirit(daily) ha ha ha ha!
I am astounded by the clarity, the speed, the lack of latency, the ease at which this device operates, the versatility, the beauty of the box. The simplicity. Literaly this device for a songwriter, arranger, composer, home stuido musician and others. There is an elation when I know that I can produce/output from the very simplist of tracks to very complex tracks. The "monitor" function button is beyond amazing. To be able to hear myself using my great quality MXL990 condenser mics(2) that I purchased from Guitar Center in 2004(rarely used my Korg D1200 mkII which is still a solid digital studio on its own), and to get such an incredible clear quality recording just makes me "sing" a lot more ha ha ha and I am not really a "singer". I can carry a tune but I am no Luther Vandross! Lol.
The actual installation of the device took less than ten minutes because you are required to go Focusrite website to download the correct driver(most up to date for your system-no issues with this)
Focusrite has go it right! Though I am using several other low budget DAWs(Sony Acid Studio 10, Cakewalk(old version), energyXT2, Stuio One 3, and now ProTools|First, Ableton Live Lite) ALL of which work fine with the Focusrite box. No problems recognizing it all.
The Focusrite Audio Box is constructed well with the nice RED color flamboyantly resting on my CPU box.
I just cannot overstate the CLARITY of recordings. If you sing or play well, it will capture that. If you sing or play bad, it will capture that too! LOL. They can easily market this sound device as being the Audio box that does not lie. Ha ha ha ha.

Focusrite is WRONG to say that this is compatible with macOS Sierra . The unit constantly drops out or makes the computer shut down. After months of back and forth with Focusrite to try to get the thing working properly, they finally blamed it on Apple's audio driver- even though my brand new macbook pro works with other audio units. Well, then don't advertise that its compatible with Sierra when it's clearly NOT. Avoid the headache I went through and purchase a different unit.

I tried multiple setups on different usb ports using windows 10. I gave up. The drivers are terrible. The device fails to be recognized as a sound device and I am not the only one with this problem. I checked the forums and everyone complains. I am going to return this at my local guitar center tomorrow and purchase the native instruments Audio 6

I've had this thing since 2012. I got it to replace both Fast Track Pros that my associate and I ended up wearing out.
This thing is awesome! It connects easily with my 2012 MacBook Pro. My biggest issue with the Fast Track Pro was that it would work great at first, but then after I removed it from my main computer, and then hooked it up to my associate's PC, it not only didn't work on his PC, it also never worked again on my MacBook. To this day, I get worried every I plug my Focusrite back in, because I was so used to having issues with my Fast Track. Not so with the Scarlett. It has not failed me once.
4 years later and I'm still rocking it, and It's paid for itself (I record vocalists for an hourly rate on the side). My only complaint is that it only has a single 1/4" headphone jack. This is a problem that my other associate addressed, as we would have to use a 2nd interface to give an engineer and a vocalist headphone output simultaneously. His solution was to upgrade to a model with dual inputs, and I'll likely do the same. My suggestion for anyone wanting dual headphone inputs would be to pay the extra $100+ for a unit with that capability. But if you're just recording yourself, or have access to a different input, this thing will keep up with you. Only reason I'm on the market for an upgrade is because I recently purchased bigger speakers/monitors, and thus have lost access to the 1/8" plug that I used to utilize on my old JBL 3.5" cones (I upgraded to the 5" LSRs).

I had a problem with getting a competitor's product to work on my laptop. The local store allowed me it install it on my laptop right on their counter before buying it to be sure that I would be satisfied that it would work then they loaned me a mic to try recording with it. Some of the staff also wanted to try it out since it was new in the store.
The 2i2 works great for me. It just sits there and does its thing so I can do mine.

This unit unit has updated drivers and works well on my HP laptop. Low latency, great sound and no noise. Using it with ableton Lite as a creative solution while on the road. it's small and compact. Nice finish. It has good volume on the direct monitor output for your headphones.

While I've been playing guitar for almost 50 years, I have never tried any sort of recording, let alone getting my sound into a computer. The Scarlett 2i2 was the perfect way for me to get into doing this. I use it with my MacBook Air and it wouldn't have been simpler. The quality of sound is amazing and even though there is a direct monitor switch, I could find no latency even when not using that setting. Seriously, if you are looking to get started in recording and mixing, buy this unit. You won't be sorry.

Good quality for the price. Setup was simple and straightforward, gets the job done. Bought this to replace and old Alesis 4-channel mixer/interface for VO work and so far all has been well.
Only criticism I have is that it seems like I have to crank the input level up to record vocals at an appropriate level. Could just be me still getting used to the device; or maybe it's just the way it's designed- just seems like I have to turn those pots up more than I'm used to... like if getting a "normal" sounding recording involves a high setting, what's the point or purpose of the rest of the device's dynamic range?

For years, I have been writing music on my own without a band to complete the songs, and without any means to record them. I finally decided that I was going to start recording at home and began to look at home recording solutions. I settled on getting the Focusrite 2i2 2nd gen. The package came with the Interface, Headphones, a mic stand, xlr cable, and the usb cable to connect to your computer.
Registering the product and getting it functional took just a few minutes, and I was ready to go!
There seemed to be a slight bit of latency at first, but I just turned the direct monitoring off while playing my guitar through the interface and that fixed it.
The headphones aren't great, but I wasn't expecting them to be. They are more than good enough to get started with then keep around as a spare set later on!
I chose not to get the package that includes the condenser mic, because that's something that I'm looking to spend a little bit more money on
Overall, for the money I am 100 percent satisfied with the product. It even comes with a bunch of free software (though I already decided to use Reaper as my DAW)

This is my first Audio Interface. I am so glad I got the good one instead of one of the cheaper ones with a lower quality pre amp. This this sounds great through my headphones and the monitors. It is a very pure- natural sound. It's simple as can be to hook up. Follow the instructions that come with it or watch any of a few dozen Youtube videos. Go ahead and pull the trigger and get this thing... No regrets.

Sadly, i am disappointed about the experience I had regarding this item. I am having issues getting a registration. No live Technical Support to provide a very simple question. Their so called "Technical Support" just points you to files you must read. My simple issue is that I could not not get registry authorization of my equipment. Therefore, I could save my work because of that. If there is another product out-there that offers a more supportive Technical Support, I would like to know.They ask you send a copy of your receipt or picture of the equipment, yet, the field to attach the file is limited to just 2MB. Nowadays, 2MB is is just a few sentences Very dis-appointed.

After downloading the USB driver for it as per the instructions written inside the box I was up in running in no time. Clear sound - no issue whatsoever. Running this using a very high end PC (sorry no Mac I can't stand lower processing quality for 10 times the price...). I cannot recommend enough the Scarlett 2i2 (I would stay away from the solo as it has only RCA output).

I just set up a in home studio and I did a lot of research. This audio interface works great for my needs, I also purchased the Push 2 with Ableton live. Easy to set up and use.

Focusrite is WRONG to say that this is compatible with macOS Sierra . The unit constantly drops out or makes the computer shut down. After months of back and forth with Focusrite to try to get the thing working properly, they finally blamed it on Apple's audio driver- even though my brand new macbook pro works with other audio units. Well, then don't advertise that its compatible with Sierra when it's clearly NOT. Avoid the headache I went through and purchase a different unit.

My only issue with my focusrite has been the chord. I haven't had the interface for very long and I feel like it is too soon for the chord to start spazzing. Sometimes it just goes crazy and causes my interface to disconnect in the middle of a session. I did get the warranty on the product but I don't know how that works with the chord?

Good simple little box.. First time connecting it sounded great..very clear. A couple months in all I get is clicks and pops. I followed Focusrite Support instructions for this problem..and it still does it randomly and multiple times after multiple restarts. Very annoying!
