The Focusrite Saffire 6 is a 2 in 4 out USB audio interface. It uses the same award-winning Focusrite mic preamps as the rest of the Saffire range. This makes it the best value, and best sounding interface in its class. Its output configuration is also ideal for laptop DJs.
This USB audio interface is ultra-reliable and easy to set up, providing you with the simplest route to record into, and play back from your computer. It has lower latency than any of its rivals, and professional analogue to digital converters ensure you get the best possible signal into your recording software.
With 2 mic preamps, multiple outputs and MIDI I/O, the Saffire 6 USB can be at the center of your home recording setup. However, its reliability means that you can take it out and record on location with confidence. The 2 in 4 out configuration is perfect for laptop DJs who need to be able to cue up material, or send two different signals to either side of a DJ mixer.
The Saffire 6 is Focusrite's most affordable interface to date, and it comes with Ableton Live Lite 7, Novation's Bass Station synthesizer, and over a gigabyte of samples. In addition to all this, you get the Focusrite FX Suite, which includes a compressor, gate, reverb, and EQ to upgrade your standard AU/VST effects.
All Saffire FireWire and Thunderbolt-compatible interfaces now come bundled with Focusrite's Midnight plug-in suite for free upon registration. The Midnight plug-in suite models two of the most iconic Focusrite modules of all time “ the ISA110 equaliser and ISA130 compressor “ and gives them elegant, functional on-screen front panels for easy control.

The latest OS from MS has ruined my recording world. All of my high dollar gear is dropping out and so forth and the vendors are still working on fixing the IRQ problem, but not Focusrite. I did my research trying to find an IO that wouldn't break the bank and one that could get me through till the other guys figure this one out. I got the Saffire 6 today and I put it through the paces with several popular DAW's and it came through with flying colors. I recorded some MIDI, Guitar, Bass, and Vocals and I never had one single problem and the audio is crystal clear. I'm also impressed with the pre-amp headroom. The Saffire 6 is a rock solid keeper and you can take that to the bank!
Talk about plug and play! I took it out of the box, placed the cd in my laptop, the driver installed and I was up and running in 5 New York minutes on a Vista 64 bit machine no less. I was actually kinda shocked at how easy the install was and HOW GOOD the Saffire 6 sounds. As the ad says, the Saffire 6 is the easiest way to get quality audio into your laptop or tower, for that matter.
I'm really happy I bought it to use it as a mobile soundcard. At first I was skeptical about the USB 1.1 slot but it doesn't really that much of a difference than on my firewire soundcards. And the funny part is that, it sounds better than my Presonus Firebox and M-Audio Fast Track pro, like NIGHT & DAY. Honetly!!! For real, the preamp itself, should be more than worth the money. If you just know what you're doing you can really get professional vocals on this thing. Also it's much better than the MOTU's preamp. You can DJ on this too, since it has extra outputs for cuing. And of course, the price is lovely, don't be fooled though, even if it's cheap, IT IS DONE RIGHT, I can tell you that. So, drop your doubts on this being USB 1.1 and get it, you'll be satisfied. Peace!
First off, Focusrite pre-amps are absolutely wonderful. Some of the best pre-amps I have ever heard. I am a long time MOTU 896HD and M-Audio 2626 user and I finally decided to buy this Saffire 6 USB for my home / portable studio. I use this unit for overdubs, bass, percussion, and any stereo guitar or keyboard tracks. I must say this is a really great unit and is very user friendly... However, this unit was not the original one that I purchased from GC. The original one I had bought was defected. The firmware was shot and the USB light would never come on. All other power lights were on, but the USB firmware was not responding. After a few minutes of trouble shooting, I decided to contact Focusrite. They were very helpful and apologetic for the defected unit. They instantly got my information and shipped a new one out that day. it arrived just 3 days later. GO FOCUSRITE! Also, for anyone wanting to know, this unit works great with: Abelton Live (Live Lite is included with the unit), Studio One, Digital Performer, and Logic Pro. Anyone needing a pro/portable unit can't go wrong with the Saffire USB.
It does everything well. My only two 'con's would be: Low output headphone jack can't drive K240s XLR/RTS multi jack seems to be soldered to the board. Other than that, the sound is amazing, the plug ins that come with it will be your favorites, and it took about 3 minutes to get it running perfectly with no drop outs. I also have the Saffire Pro 40, and this unit sounds identical (which is why I bought it - for those times when I need to track a vocal in the booth with a Macbook Pro
The Focusrite Saffire 6 USB Audio Interface is a great USB interface. Compared to other interfaces in the same price range, it tops all others in every aspect. There is basically no latency when recording your vocals into the interface and into the computer. The sound is great and the Focusrite preamps on the device is very warm and with some good compression and mixing of the vocals it will just enrich the vocals even more. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a fantastic interface for a good price.
THIS is it it does it all great machine. i use it with macbook pro 13inch and there is no latency when recording guitar raw original sound if u bring it through the amp and then to mac garageband. Guitar center recommended i get this beast. and sure were right.. Thankyou! Focusrite and Guitar center
No comment's, it's perfect with a nice and clean sound. It has a very strong construction. Congratulation to the GuitarcCenter team.
I bought this product based on the reviews from this site, and was not disappointed. Very easy to be up and running, simple controls, and delivers great sound. It is great that it draws power from USB and does not need an AC adapter. I use in conjunction with Garage Band on a Mac Book Air and do seamless recording or guitars, bass, electronic drums, voice. Not sure what I would change about it.
This is best quality audio interface I have ever owned!! If you want that clear crispy audio for your vocals this is it. My first interface was the M-audio fast track pro, and the M-Box for Pro Tools. Both interfaces were alright but as I started getting better at mixing and hearing frequency's something was missing and it was the Focusrite Preamps. My Suggestion is to don't get an analog mixer or Tube pre if you want clear vocals. Unless you want to add color(warmth)to the sound. But if you want that Crispy Cream Vocal then go with Focusrite you will never regret it!! Plus the unit itself is well built with pro quality, and you will get the free plugin suite and Bass Station.
This machine works perfectly. I'm running Win 7 X64 using Reaper and ProTools 10.3.5. The computer is an HP Model HPE 410Y. I've never had an error message and it's NEVER failed me. I've completed approximately 40 songs not including songs I've recorded for others. You can check out the quality here: http://soundcloud.com/pd-k-1/ This thing is so reliable that I don't even think about it. It always works and delivers great results. I also love the compressor VST that comes with the unit. GC highly recommended this unit and I am glad I took their advice. Do not hesitate!
