I own a Gibson Les Paul, and I was not a Fender fan. I tried the strat and nothing. But one day I got a tele and it turned me. The neck pick up has a deep and rich tone for those nice blues licks or thick chunk distorted rock chords. The bridge pick up has a nice twang and bightness to it that is not disturbing, pretty nice to play lead rock licks. The maple neck is fast and this guitar is just an over-all comfort to play. I truely recommend this guitar. You get your money's worth. Go out and try one today.

I wasn't happy with the stock pickups, so I put a Seymour Duncan hotrail in the bridge, and a dimarzio tru velevet in the neck. I am giving this 5 stars because the guitar was great quality with a straight neck, and awesome tone. See the pic I uploaded. New pickgard gave it personality.

To put it simply, this is a good guitar, with a decent Tele sound (twangy and bright on the bridge pup, round and warm on the neck pup), and good hardware. If you want it to be great, swap the pickups for something better - nearly anything will fix there issues. They are too bright, and too "ice-pick" in the high end. There are a million aftermarket Tele pups, many very affordable, that will take this guitar from good to great in no time flat. That's it. The one thing holding it back. If you like a more vintage thing right out of the box, I suggest the Classic Vibe Tele from Squier - it is a little less money, and more spot on for vintage Tele work. If you want a more flexible, modern guitar after a pup swap, then this is your cup o tea.

I have always played Gibsons or Epiphones, but felt the need to branch out. I have always liked the sound of a Tele, so thought it was time to try one. My wife ordered me one in Lake Placid blue for my birthday from Donnie at the Arlington,Tx location, and I was in awe when I picked it up. The color was fantastic, the set up was perfect, and I could not believe how well it played. Crisp highs on the bridge pickup, and sweet tone on the neck pickup, perfect for the type of music I like, which is the blues. I could not be more happy. Now my Les Pauls just hang on the wall looking sad while I play my Tele. I did change the strings to 10's, and all intonatiom issues went away. I recommend this to anyone looking for a guitar with some bite, but also some sweet blues tone as well.

I bought this guitar new, four years ago when it was on sale and took an additional 20% discount. Total cost $280. I've played for over 45 years and have a USA Strat, Gibson ES339 & ES175, Taylor 410CE, Martin 000, Ovation Tornado (look it up), and a few classicals and guitar synths. Variety of amps. While this Tele is not the finest guitar I own, I seem to pick it up quite often. I gig regularly with several groups and have used it for a Chicago cover band, Classic Rock, Blues/Funk and even some contemporary jazz tunes. It also works fine in the studio. Like most single coils, there is a bit of hum, especially with some compressors, but nothing you can't deal with. Simple bare bones design, yet very flexible in the tones, from crunchy rock to clean, mellow jazz. Guitar required some set up on arrival, but nothing major. Fit & Finish are fine. Neck solid and comfortable to hold. I chose the Arctic White and it's very nice. After 4 years, I have no reservations recommending this guitar. For the money, this is probably the most guitar for the price that I own.
Comments about Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:
So, let me put it like this. This guitar is FANTASTIC. I've been playing guitar for almost five years now and about a year ago, I decided to switch from acoustic to electric. I researched guitars ranging from Strats to Les Pauls to Jacksons, but settled on a getting a Tele because a lot of my favorite guitarists such as Keith Richards, Joe Walsh, and Waylon Jennings all played Teles at some point. When I first bought it, I was slightly worried because I bought it sight unseen. When I pulled it out of the box, however, my fears were instantly abated. This guitar is good for pretty much any genre. I usually play either country, classic rock, or blues but for sake of testing this baby out, I tried out her out with the gain turned all the way up and, I have to tell you, this guitar can hold it's own with more popular metal guitars like Les Pauls or SGs. The pickups are astounding and really sing in any position, be it the bridge, middle, or neck. The neck plays very smoothly and is pretty thin, which is nice because I've got short, fat fingers. As far looks go, this work of art has no equal. I bought it in black and she's just beautiful. The pictures online really don't do it much justice. The pickguard almost has like an aged look to it and it's just awesome. In short, she looks good, sounds good and plays good. Buy it.

A year ago I bought the Lake Placid blue Standard Telecaster. I used to have a strong bias against fender products until someone let my play their telecaster. I have never looked back since. This guitar offers such historic american tones, and you can alter them anyway you'd like. This thing can handle some serious beef, as well as vintage tube sounds. Nothing ever gets muddy or washed out. There is not a thing this guitar can do. You will not be able to hear the difference between this guitar and a american telecaster. The stock pickups in the guitar are the best stock pickups that have come with any of my guitars I have bought. I did however replace them, but this thing sounds phenomenal right out of the box! I get tons of compliments when I play out live on how beautiful it is.
Comments about Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:
I got the Arctic White from the great guys @ Guitar Center in Arlington TX, the neck has a great feel. The guitar is beautiful, but I changed the pickups & put in a set of Dimarzio Area Ts'. I had a Pro give me a great low action setup, & my, my. This guitar sounds badder than bad. I would bet real money, that you could not tell that this guitar was not an $1800 or $2000.00 guitar. It sounds that good to me.
Comments about Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:
Just bought this guitar and love it. It looks great and plays easy. Just what I had hoped for. I always wanted a telecaster but as a learner/hobbyist I really couldn't justify the cost of an American Tele. I adjusted the action and the pickup height, and it sounds great. Excellent buy. I ordered a tele at the store, and when it arrived, it just wasn't the color I expected. The folks at the store were very accommodating and re-ordered this one for me on the spot. When it arrived, part of my order was missing. I called the help line and a guy named Bill helped me. Very friendly, and efficient. He ordered the missing article and had it in the mail right away. Best customer service I've had in a very long time.

I got this guitar a year ago, and it is just amazing. The neck is great, and the paint is beautiful. It stays in tune very well, and has the classic tele twang! The pickups are a little bit weak, but not enough to make it 4 stars. It is an amazing guitar for the price!
Comments about Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:
The guitar and amp (Telecaster and Marshal 30watt Amp) came by UPS and when we opened up the boxes, We couldn't believe how beautiful it was!I haven't played in yrs but it all comes back after a lot of practice.Only thing I would have liked better is the color; The sunburst color isn't very yellow-orange in the middle - more like a burnt orange (darker) but other than that, I looked it all over and found no flaws whatsoever - unlike a lot of reviews were saying! Nothing wrong with Made in Mexico.I set it all up according to Fender's instructions and it sounds and plays beautifully. The pickups were too low and the intonation needed re-doing and the bridge components were too high. After that, I pulled the neck up closer to the strings with the truss rod adjustment so it's not like playing a cheese slicer. (my fingers are sore enough as it is) Ha ha! Between the guitar and amp, I can get just about any sound or tone that I want! Just love it! Always wanted a Telecaster and didn't go wrong with this one! Couldn't see spending $$$ on an American made one and this more than satisfies my requirements for a great guitar; Buy one, you won't regret it!Just set it up properly and You will love it too!

Just picked up this guitar yesterday, i didn't want to pay big dollars for another guitar, and i had read a lot of reviews from many different websites- because i've always purchased American made and wasn't sure about MIM guitars. Got to say i'm really digging the pure raunchy sound i can get on the bridge pick up. A sound i can't get with my Strat. The jury is still out on this Tele. but i'm thinkin i'll be playing this alot.

I love the telecaster. I have had a wonderful employee at GUitar Center (A guy named Casey, who worked at Guess road store 4 years ago). He was a very customer-focussed guy and I wanted to buy stuff from him. I tried to give him my business again, but I heard he had relocated.
I felt the set-up wasn't great. There's a buzz in the low e. But, overall I love the guitar.

I?ve had the standard Telecaster for 2 years now and its great!! It has that unique fender tone and its very versatile!! Absolutely recommend this guitar to anyone!!
Comments about Fender Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:
Extremely versatile guitar. Can play anything from jazz to metal to some ambient stuff. Factory set up was perfect and there wasn't any fret buzz and intonation was perfect. The neck pickup buzzes a tiny bit, but it's barely noticeable and doesn't effect me unless I'm using a wah or something. I got it in lake placid boyr and it looks great!! I recommend

I have been playing a Strat for almost 30 years so I decided to try a Gretsch. My easy playing Strat had me spoiled and I couldn't get used to the action and feel of the Gretsch so I returned it. I purchased an arctic white MIM Telecaster and it is the best guitar I have ever owned or played. I guess I have learned that I am a Fender guy all the way.

I have played for over 50 years and professionally for over 25. I have repaired and setup guitars for that long as well. In my humble opinion, if you don't have the money to afford the American Standard Tele or above, properly setup these guitars are great and very well made. I can recommend them to just about anyone.
