Overview

Inspired by the Pacific Ocean, the lustrous FSR Standard Telecaster HH Sea Foam Pearl is a tribute to the Telecaster guitar’s origin in California. With its unique aesthetic style, this is the perfect instrument for the stage—the one-of-a-kind finish shines under the spotlight with the glow of a moonlight ocean. Its exceptional style, thick voice and easy playability are sure to please those who like their music like the sea—mysterious and deep.

Powered by a pair of chrome-covered humbucking pickups, this Telecaster has a slightly thicker, deeper voice than usual, while retaining authentic Fender note clarity and articulation. Master volume and tone controls, along with a three-way blade pickup switch sculpt the pickup’s voice for titanic waves of sound that can be shaped to match any musical genre.

The comfortable modern “C”-shaped neck is comfortable during long playing sessions while the 9.5”-radius rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets provides a easy, familiar playing feel that handles chords and melodic playing with ease. A 6-saddle string-through-body hardtail bridge provides singing sustain along with accurate intonation and rock-solid tuning stability.

The warm, rich look of the fingerboard contrasts beautifully with the crisp FSR Sea Foam Pearl finish over an alder body. Other aesthetic touches include chrome hardware, skirted control knobs and a dual-wing string tree. A study in restrained elegance, the FSR Standard Telecaster HH Sea Foam Pearl is a gorgeous, luminescent addition to any player’s collection.

Awesome guitar. Stays in tune surprisingly well with stock nut and tuning keys. The body contour is a great addition to an MIM tele. I did change the bridge saddles to modern block ones (stock saddles are the the bent style), put a Tusq nut in and put a Duncan JB pickup in the bridge, but none of these "upgrades" were remotely necessary. This thing is good to go as it is. I own 2 Gibsons, a standard single-coil tele and a Schecter, and this tele is my current go-to. Feels great, sounds great, looks great.

Comments about Fender Special Edition HH Maple Fingerboard Standard Telecaster:

So ive played guitar for a little over a year and learned on an epiphone les paul 100. I enjoyed this guitar but I wanted to upgrade; for motivation purposes and because I found for the style of music I was interested in learning. Anyway I went to guitar center with a telecaster in mind and had liked the color but was indecisive. After playing a couple and figuring out what features I liked I decided to order this one offline instead of purchasing one they had in the store (mainly for the color) but also because I wanted a sanded neck. I was unsure of how the pickups would sound and honestly took a gamble.
But it payed off! the color is awesome and shows way better in person. There is boatloads of tone which you would expect from a tele, paired with the modern bridge and humbucks it sounds great.
Long story short my friend who plays an American strat came over and played this thing, he loved it and thought it was the 1600 special edition American telecaster, once I told him I paid 600 his jaw dropped and said he cant tell the difference.

Comments about Fender Special Edition HH Maple Fingerboard Standard Telecaster:

I mainly play Les Pauls, but have always liked Tele's. In fact, my first good guitar was a Tele. This one has a nice C-shaped neck that I've always found very comfortable. It has a beautiful shade of seafoam green that almost looks fluorescent in dim light. It's not an obnoxious color, but it definitely stands out.

Now on to the important stuff: TONE. A Les Paul gives you a certain fullness and warmth that is particularly noticeable in rhythm playing, but also in single string stuff. This is NOT a Les Paul. It is brighter and more articulate than most LP's that I've owned and that's too many to count. It is brighter, but in a pleasant way. It is not ice picky, like I find in the Fender Atomic humbuckers. They are more like the Wide Range humbuckers found in the '72 reissue Tele's. There are some outstanding harmonic overtones with this guitar. Not to sound like Joe Dirt, but I'm a rocker dude and to get the really spanky single coil stuff (that I don't play) you should probably look at a different Tele. I mean, you can get the twangy stuff, but single would be better.

Just one negative: Fender, can you please at least include a cheap gig bag? I mean, charge me an extra $20 and include it already!

For the money, this is a well built value of a guitar. You would have no problem gigging with it, depending on your musical style I found a nice set up out of the box, belly cut, and the price was certainly good. I don't think anyone would be disappointed with this guitar.

Not as light as I hoped but not as heavy as I feared. I would buy more guitars online if you had better pictures and weight of each guitar, at 64 with a bum left shoulder weight is important to me and I'm sure a lot of older players.

Comments about Fender Special Edition HH Maple Fingerboard Standard Telecaster:

This guitar is simply awesome. It's simple, yet sounds great. The humbuckers are very warm, yet spanky. They can be cranked up to play metal, or mellowed down to play slow emo blues or even twangy enough for country.

You'll want to replace the basic tuners with Fender Deluxe Locking tuners...Because you'll be playing this guitar a lot, and changing strings a lot. However it isn't a necessary upgrade. The saddles are the only downfall of this model. Fender could've put the better solid deluxe ones on. That will be my next upgrade.
I get tons of comments on the color. It's absolutely gorgeous. I love playing this guitar. It sounds and plays great and stays in tune. Set up was dead on for me right out of the box. I haven't had to change a thing except string height on high E, and a tiny bit of intonation. But nothing major.
Did I mention I LOVE this guitar.

Exactly what I was looking for

Comments about Fender Special Edition HH Maple Fingerboard Standard Telecaster:

I have a couple Les Pauls and another Epiphone hollowbody. But I really wanted a telecaster but without the single coils.

I was originally set on getting a Chrs Shiflett but a buddy of mine asked me to check out the original Blacktop Telecasters. I immediately liked what I heard and was even more surprised that they made an update but with a maple fret board. Having never owned such an instrument, I felt like I should get it but decided to wait for a price drop.

Lo and behold, they had blemished versions of this guitar (aka cosmetic damage that I would most likely to do my guitar anyway) and I immediately ordered one right away.

I got the guitar and fell in love. The neck wasn't laminted (fretboard is so meh), the pickups screamed when plugging into my Jet City stack, and it was a lighter than my Les Pauls!!

The blemish was literally a few dings on the side that honestly gave the guitar more character to me. I took it to my shop guy to check for any other potential problems but he said it was good! I'm gonna ask him to file down the frets (there were kinda sharp and raised) and other mods but all in all, very happy with the purchase and quality of the guitar.

If you're looking for the tele shape without the tele "twang", a great clean sound that also does distortion quite well, and aren't looking to break the bank, this guitar is for you. You won't regret it!

Comments about Fender Special Edition HH Maple Fingerboard Standard Telecaster:

With this special edition Telecaster, Fender has outdone themselves. Play-ability is superb, fit and finish is flawless and with this particular model you get the belly-cut body as well. A first for a MIM telecaster that I am aware of. I will upgrade the pickups, although they perform adequately, and I will add locking tuners. At this price point the quality and value is absolutely astounding.

This FSR dual humbucker-equipped Telecaster is an exceptional guitar. The pickups have a nicely balanced tone to them; not "muddy" at all. Mine was flawless out of the box. I'm a big fan of the satin finished neck rear, which makes for smooth and efficient fretting. The Seafoam Green Pearl finished alder body is beautiful. The inclusion of the "belly cut" feature just makes this guitar that much easier to play. Highly recommended!

I bought this based on the reviews here and via YouTube. This is a surprisingly well built guitar for the money. Humbuckers have an amazing sound. The setup was decent enough out of the box, just had to tweak the truss rod slightly and bridge height as string height was a little high. This has that great thick tele maple neck that I love. Great player - sounds and plays like a more expensive guitar.

Comments about Fender Special Edition HH Maple Fingerboard Standard Telecaster:

Up front I want to say I like this guitar. It looks great and sounds pretty good. I'd been looking for a Tele in a moderate price range with humbuckers and up till now I could only find the Squire contemporary. When I came across this one I jumped on it and ordered it. And it is a beautiful guitar for the price. But...
When I went to the store it was still in the box and hadn't been removed and checked out or set up. So the sales guy and I took a quick look and off I went. My mistake! Once home and after a closer look I found the major ding on the back edge at the bottom of the body. Didn't see it at first but felt it. Took a closer look and a couple of chips came off. Why these don't ship in a gig bag is beyond me. Even my Squier Tele came in a gig bag. I also had to finish filing the nut so the high e string wouldn't slide out of the slot. Other than that it was pretty much what I expected.
On the positive side, besides the looks, the neck is virtually identical to my American Tele. Gotta say I was pretty pleased and surprised by that. Overall it's a keeper.

This has become my favorite guitar. I have an American Strat and a Gibson Les Paul, but I prefer this. If either of the humbuckers sounds weak to you, just raise the humbucker with the two screws on either side of it. It helped tremendously for me. The color along side the chrome looks tremendous, especially with the black pickguard. I love this guitar.

This Telecaster checked off all my wants in a guitar: maple fretboard, humbuckers, unique color, and MIM. Despite the fact the quality control was lacking on the guitar (volume knob loose, missing a screw, and a loose pick up ring) the guitar is great. Action was spot on for me, I just had to set the intonation and was able to play right away. The color and fit are awesome. For the Telecaster purist, I am sure the dual humbucker set up a sacrilegious act of war. I enjoy the HH setup and was glad that Fender offered this unique configuration to us. I am sure if you tried hard enough, you could add a push/pull pot and wire the humbuckers to split the coils if you really desired the single coil sound.

Comments about Fender Special Edition HH Maple Fingerboard Standard Telecaster:

I have a standard single coil Tele and wanted to add an HH Tele to my little collection. It was just what I was looking for (plus it looks really nice).
I was expecting a satin neck but it has a gloss finish. I am ok with that.
