Comments about Fender Special Edition '72 Telecaster Thinline Electric Guitar:
I purchased the Surf Green model this week from the Guitar Center on Ventura Blvd. The Tone: I was expecting more of a muddy tone and was pleasantly surprised how articulate and clear the tone is. I owned an American Vintage 72 Thin-Line Re-issue Telecaster and that was muddy and didn't feel like this model does. You can really hit country and rockabilly in the bridge position. The middle Position is well balanced, it's of course more mid sounding yet clear and articulate. Not muddy. In the neck position you can get a nice woody sound. Honestly this guitar sounds great unplugged. Fender really put some magic in this guitar. The Feel: The nick is a little thicker more rounded. It feels like a high end Fender to me. I know I own a few. It's light in weight and feels great and easy to play. You can easily adjust the truss rod or the string height how you like. The Looks: Just beautiful. It's a beautiful surf green. Not a faded almost white surf green like you see on the Squires. It glows with beauty. When I was purchasing as it was laying on the counter, I was walking around and hearing people say how beautiful it was. It really stands out. Overall: I love this guitar and it's a special guitar. Again, nothing like the American Vintage 72 thin-line. It's amazing how different a guitar can sound. I will cherish this guitar forever.
