Its punchy split-coil pickup delivers the classic P Bass growl that launched a million basslines. You'll look and sound the part whether recording in the studio or taking the stage.

The Rumbling Voice of a Bass Icon
At the heart of the Player II Precision Bass is an Alnico V split-coil pickup that faithfully recreates the classic Precision Bass tone that changed music forever. Plug in and experience the warm, punchy midrange and deep low-end growl that has anchored countless hit records. The pickup's split-coil design provides a clear but robust voice with enough bite to cut through a dense mix. Dial in your ideal sound using the dedicated volume and tone controls right on the bass.

A Comfortable Maple Neck Built for Performance
Crafting a great bass starts with an inviting neck profile that encourages you to take your playing further. The Player II Precision Bass's modern C-shaped maple neck fits snugly in your hand, allowing your fretting fingers to move freely along the 9.5"-radius maple fingerboard. Medium-jumbo frets provide a smooth playing surface ideal for bass techniques from slapping and popping to intricate jazz lines.

Vintage Style, Modern Refinements
While its sound honors Fender's heritage, the Player II Precision Bass incorporates several upgrades for enhanced playability and tuning stability. The 4-saddle bridge is engineered for precise intonation and easy action adjustment so you can personalize the feel. Premium open-gear tuning machines and vintage-style disc string trees adorn the headstock. Other classic touches include a gloss polyester-finished alder body, 3-ply black/white/black pickguard and F-stamped neckplate.

I bought this specifically for a show at a venue that me and my band have been wanting to play for awhile now. This thing did not at all disappoint. I actually feel so much more incentive to pick up my bass to practice, and all my friends have noticed an increase in my skill level because of it! Great bass, and well worth the purchase. #sweepstakes

This bass is incredible. Once setup, its tone and feel when playing are great. I particularly enjoy the rounded edges of the neck. Overall its feels very quality in the hands and when playing tone wise.
Awesome bass, especially for newer players

I originally was in the market for an electric guitar, but the bass section at guitar center kept calling out to me. I've tried many basses over the span of a few weeks to get a feel for the tone and feel of the instrument. For tone, i'm not at a level where I can tell a ton of differences between instruments but it's very apparent for the player II pricision (If you can see it in person, i think youll be able to tell as well). Secondly, the strings were very easy to play compared to the ones on the other models I tried such as the squire. Maybe it has to do with the specific unit i have I don't know. BUT this bass has been awesome to play, and has been amazing for learning. I was in the market for a starter bass, but I think I found my end game from the get go.
