    Fender stripped out the rhythm circuit leaving just the pickup selector and two knobs. For someone who had a Jaguar years ago and couldn't make heads or tails of the rhythm circuit, this is a welcome change. Fender also used the Jaguar bridge for this iteration of the Jazzmaster which introduces a lot of tuning stability. Even with these welcomed changes it still sounds like a Jazzmaster. The pickups are clear and spanky, but they are noisy on their own. The neck plays very well for one that's not spec'd with a modern radius. There are no fret issues whatsoever. I got mine used and the strings are 11s, which are heavier than what I normally play on, but it really works for this guitar. It doesn't include a case or gig bag which is disappointing, but not surprising at this price point. Purists will no doubt dislike this Jazzmaster because of it's lack of traditional controls, but for those who have shied away from those models for that very reason, this is the Jazzmaster for you.

    what is the difference between the two Jazzmaster II guitars shown here. One is $130 more, why? I do want a Jazzmaster.

    Can humbuckers fit into the pick up cavity without any routing if I want to swap pick ups?
