The Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special is an electric guitar that updates Fender's iconic Jazzmaster model with some thoroughly modern improvements: Hotter pickups, a redesigned Adjusto-Matic bridge with floating tremolo tailpiece, a 9.5" fingerboard radius and an improved neck pocket with increased back-angle for improved stability and sustain. The Classic Player Jazzmaster guitar's tremolo plate has been moved closer to the bridge to increase break angle and sustain. A screw-in tremolo arm increases stability and control when "twang-dipping".

So, I bought mine off an older gentleman whose wife was making him sell guitars. He sold it to me for $600. I'm not joking when I tell you that this is the BEST $600 I have ever spent. I would easily have paid double to for this beauty! I've been playing for about 15 years and have several nice guitars (Gibson Les Paul Studio, Big Apple Strat, 1970s Strat), but none of them compare to the Jazzmaster. It's seriously all I ever want to play now. I'm in an indie/emo/alt rock band and this guitar gets me the perfect sounds. Plus everyone loves the way it looks on stage. It plays like a dream and the tones are unbelievable. Seriously, if you want an amazing guitar for your buck, do yourself a favor and get one. Don't worry about the Mexican make either, because mine is perfect to the last detail. GO GET ONE!

Comments about Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special Electric Guitar:
this is a great guitar for the price. I have no complaints whatsoever. I fell in love with this little beauty in august 2008. I bought it and have no regrets about doing so. The pickups were really hot at first, but have mellowed out quite a bit, so I get a tone i really like. You can't go wrong with this guitar, not to mention, it will be the envy of all your guitar playing friends! Definitely invest in this electric!

These guitars are quite hard to find, if you're thinking of getting one now's the time. I ordered mine, a display model, from the West Coast because no one had them in stock in the summer of '10. What a gorgeous guitar! The sound is incredible! I have an American Tele and an American Stat and this is my favorite guitar, believe it or not. It feels like no other guitar and plays like a dream and the sounds are endless. It does have that woody sound, you can feel it against yourself as you play. Love it!
Comments about Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special Electric Guitar:
I love this guitar. It was almost perfect out of the box. After a couple of quick tweaks, I had excellent intonation, and the guitar stays in tune. The sound and quality of craftsmanship far exceeded my expectation for a MIM fender. I would recommend this guitar to anyone interested in Jazz, Blues, Surf, 60s Pop, Alternative/Indy rock, and country.

I just picked this guitar up, and man! the tone is amazing. the dual humbuckers give it a smooth sound and you can do so much with this guitar. One thing to watch out for when first unpackaging it is to check if all the strings are in the right groove on the bridge. during shipping they can get dislocated. Anyways, i highly reccomend this guitar to anyone! its a great buy and i love it
Comments about Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special Electric Guitar:
This is a phenomenal deal! Well built guitar and very versatile. Pros are the set up from factory is good out of the box. Great gig bag and good floating trem. The rhythm settings are rather dark, but usable. The lead settings are the bomb! New hot pick ups are great, but remember they are single coils and that equals some hum on position one and three. The looks Are killer! All in all a super deal. It's a keeper.

Comments about Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special Electric Guitar:
The guitar was obviously used and damaged. Didn't wanna take it back because this has happened every time I've gotten a guitar from there. Will never buy another guitar. Wouldn't be so mad but still paid full price. If you pay full price for something, you expect it in new condition.
Comments about Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special Electric Guitar:
Pros: Dead sexy, plays great, sounds awesome, is weighted really nice, sits perfectly, came set up perfectly and it's a jazzmaster. Did I mention it's freakin beautiful. Sunburst is never my first choice in colors but the finish on this is really nice looks great with the great cream soap bar pickups. Cons: Comes with a soft gig bag, so if you want to look after it you'll probably want to buy a hardshell case for it. Other than that, I can't think of any. If you're buying a Jazzmaster, you probably searched for it and know what you're getting. This will not disappoint.
Comments about Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special Electric Guitar:
I gave it 4 stars because for me 5 stars = absolute perfection. For me, this Jazzmaster guitar neck fit my hand like a glove but, Let me describe the pickups - the bridge has a similarly bright "swirl" sound to the Strat bridge pickup with a slight reverb feel. The neck pickup and neck/bridge (1st and 2nd position) sound mostly similar, but the 1st position has a ballsier contrast between lows and highs. The Jazzmaster also has less sustain, but it has such a distinct mellow tone that lends itself to blues, jazz, and surf when it's played cleanly. I wouldn't recommend this guitar for lower tunings except for drop tunings - the higher strings wont sit well in the saddles when tuned down. You definitely need to check this quality MIM guitar out and play.
Comments about Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special Electric Guitar:
The last time I player a Jazzmaster was 20 odd years ago and wanted one ever since. This came and I found it to be a perfect fit for Church and Jazz, It's very versatile and the taller body style fits right under my arms very comfortable. The pickguard came pretty scratched up which took away from the new feel, if I have scratches on my pickguard, I want to be the one who put them there. Other than that, this baby is tone city with a lot of character. By the way GuitarCenter is sending a replacement pickguard with no fuss, their were very responsive.
Comments about Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special Electric Guitar:
My dad actually bought this, but he never plays and I play it as much as I can. It has a really great/ unique sound that I can't explain. Most of the guitars I own are Fenders, but there is something really cool about this guitar. The sunburst is so pretty and the it seems like it never comes out of tune. The pickups and pretty good , but the way it plays and sounds is what gets me.

Comments about Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special Electric Guitar:
I bought a black MIM Classic Player Strat about 4 years ago on it's looks alone. At that time, Jazzmasters were hard to find, and I wanted that sound I've been searching for ever since 1968 when I first played one. The strings are up higher off the pickguard than Stratocasters, and the split pkp single-coil sound that is unique to Jazzmasters is fully present and a refreshing difference than Strats or Telecasters. The nice thing is that these pkps are hotter than in the American Jazzmasters and really punch out for rock gigs. I love playing it quietly sitting at home with compound jazz chording. I turn it up full for rock gigs. It handles fine and sounds awesome through a tube amp. Its warm and not as shrill as a Strat. I always get compliments on my sound. I kinda wish the tremolo plate wasn't as close to the bridge as it is - it detracts from the authentic look of a Jazzmaster, but, if you can get past that, the Mustang bridge and improved string break keeps strings more stable for heavy rhythm playing. No regrets or buyers remorse with this guitar! v I wish they came in Fiesta Red, Sonic Blue and light purple. I'd buy backups. Excellent instrument.

Comments about Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special Electric Guitar:
Fender's Classic Player Jazzmaster is about the only guitar I've been 100% satisfied with right off the wall. Nothing about this instrument requires modification - its perfect straight from the factory. I really like its pickups, which are slightly hotter than other JM's. They sound just like any other JM pickup until you drop into shoegazer mode - that's when they scream. = I likey.
Fender finally listened to players & addressed the bridge issue. The fixed adjustomatic (tuneomatic) bridge solves probs historically associated w/ traditional JM bridges; loose slapping around, string spacing, string hop, asstd mysterious noises, etc. Having owned many Jazzmasters over the past 30yrs, IMO the fixed bridge is a significant improvement. I always enjoyed the treble pickup choke controls (upper), although they aren't really necessary w/ a 3 way toggle. The only thing I would change is distance from tremolo to bridge. Classic Player JM's park the tremolo pretty close & I think a bit more distance seems to add to its stringy sound or sustain.
My Jazzmaster arrived in decent playing condition. I messed around w/ it a bit - lowered string height, opened up nut/saddle notches for smoother vibratos & leveled one proud fret (#13). For the price, I really love this guitar. Mexico has been putting out amazing quality lately. Embarrassingly, we have abt 40 guitars in the house -right now THIS is my go-to guitar.

I bought this on a whim one day. It was the last one in the store and I couldn't go home without it. It buzzed at the bridge pretty bad for the first few weeks (you couldn't hear it through the amp, though) so I had the tech put a different bridge on it and the buzz is gone and it plays like a charm. It's got a bridge from a junker hollow body Epiphone on it now and I'm in love. Really warm, full sound from the pickups. The gloss neck feels really nice. Definitely worth it.

Comments about Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Special Electric Guitar:
I bought my Classic Player in 2011 new and of course got the case too. I have owned several Strats and a few Tele's. This guitar feels and plays better to me and the sound is a tad warmer. I really like the upper bout controls and use them allot, they only work with the neck pickup. I can play jazz with it and it sounds like a soap bar Les Paul with a tad more twang and then I can flip the upper bout switch and go into a hot lead and then back for a warm jazzy rhythm. Okay now for a few hints to make thiis guitar better. Change the bridge to a roller type, I did this right off and it stayed in tune better and eliminated a slight buzz in the "B" string. I think Fender should have done this as part of the original changes they made for this guitar. But like every guitar I've ever owned I made some changes to the action, intonenation, pickup height and neck adustment, to what I like. In fact the factory never gets it right. Never! I usually play through a Deluxe Reverb or a Princeton, I really think this guitar is my favorite Fender guitar.
