Comments about Fender Classic '60s Jaguar Lacquer Rosewood Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

I've been playing guitar over 30 years, former touring professional. So, as you can imagine, I'm picky about gear. But since Fender quality has impressed me so much recently, I ordered this guitar without trying one first. I opened the plush black hardshell case...beautiful. I picked it up...heavy, but no more than my main guitar, an old Gibson LP Deluxe. Then I plugged it into my Vox AC-15...very impressive! I love how it has such unique tones, and so many (all of those switches and knobs are very useful). It can do nearly any genre: rock, punk, surf, rockabilly, country, jazz, blues etc. And guess what? No more hum using overdrive than the old LP. Great shielding on the pickups. I gave it a real workout...it kept right up with me and put a huge grin on my face. After adjusting the bridge, I discovered why people gripe about it. But I made mine work, despite two string height adjustment screws falling out and getting lost forever. Aside from that? Flawless. Never goes out of tune, despite my tremolo workouts (this is my favorite tremolo ever). Feels and sounds awesome. This would replace my LP as my main guitar in a live situation. The quality is that good. Buy one while you can! Link Wray would.

Comments about Fender Classic '60s Jaguar Lacquer Rosewood Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

I've owned several "surf" guitars... from the Classic Player's Jaguar to the Classic 60's Jazzmaster to the Johnny Marr Jaguar. But I've never quite found the sound I was looking for -- until now.
This Classic 60's Jaguar seems to have a rawness that the others didn't. The kind of tone that makes you feel like you're playing in a dive bar near the ocean in Tijuanna. The finish is flawless. The vintage stained neck looks great and feels perfect.
The only issue I had was that the intonation was completely overlooked at the factory... all the saddles were up against the front edge of the bridge. But a few quick turns of a screwdriver - and the intonation was perfect. If you're looking for something with a raw, hard edge to the sound, check this out!

Comments about Fender Classic '60s Jaguar Lacquer Rosewood Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

I give the neck on this guitar a very solid 5 stars. This is the most old school, skinny neck since I traded off my Mosrite Ventures II in 1971. I could kiss the person that did the finish job this neck. I give the smooth, flawless finish a very solid 5 stars. This is a beautiful guitar - that's the only way to describe it. But...

When I unpacked the guitar I noticed that the strings were loosened more haphazardly than I am used to with new Fender instruments. While tightening the strings I likewise noticed that the bridge saddles were resting on the bottom of the bridge, as opposed to the adjustment screws bracing the saddles against said bridge. After tuning the strings I saw why. The bridge posts were installed so that the bridge can not be lowered any farther. Period. Those string positions - from the factory - are already as low as they can ever be lowered. Luckily the heights were totally acceptable, although those saddles will always rattle. I accept that a stock Jaguar bridge will always have a bit of rattle to it, but having to rest the saddles on the bottom of the bridge is barely acceptable.

I also noticed that the neck pickup was all the way down under the pick guard and I was puzzled by that. When I amplified the guitar and began adjusting the pickup upwards I found that either the pick guard port was machined out of place, or the pickup was installed out of position. The pick guard caught the front claws and began pulling them off on the front side. Almost immediately the guitar developed a crackle every time the plastic pick guard is touched.

I've been playing guitar since 1959, and there is nothing wrong with this guitar that I won't be able to fix. In fact... there is nothing seriously wrong with this guitar which is why I have it an overall 3 stars. The pickups are as advertised, AV 65's, and even the front one in it's damaged condition hits that traditional Jaguar "sweet spot." I just can not recommend this guitar.

Comments about Fender Classic '60s Jaguar Lacquer Rosewood Fingerboard Electric Guitar:

This was a gift from fiance for my birthday. I've always thought these were cool. I walked in to the store and i seriously played every kind of guitar. This guitar blew away the American Strats, and the American Jags. It really was the best sounding and playing guitar in the building. Also, the tremelo is the best tremelo ever! The only thing that bugged me a little was the bridge. But i looked on YouTube and found a video that fixed that problem forever. It's Dave Simpsons "jag bridge" video. Watch it, it will fix that problem. So many tones, and so fun to play. I am in love with this guitar. I've sold Strats, prs, Gibson, etc.... I WON'T SELL THIS. Seriously, it's that Good.
