Comments about Fender California Series Kingman SCE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Bass:

After spending many months concentrating on fiddle, I started getting cramps in my hand when playing the Jazz Bass again. The Kingman bass with Thomastic Acousticore strings lets me switch back and forth easily now. The tone is actually better than my FJB for Big Band and trio gigs!

Comments about Fender California Series Kingman SCE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Bass:

I've owned this bass for several months and have received numerous complements on it. It not only looks cool, but it also sounds great and plays well. I was hesitant about getting this bass since it was "Made in China." However, it has proved to be a solid, Fender-quality instrument. I've seen no major issues with this instrument in the finish, electronics, or structure. Plugged in to any bass amp, it sounds amazing. Swap for flatwounds and you can get an almost upright bass sound out of it. I prefer flats, and switched my strings immediately (LaBella light gauge).

Now for the small issues: When you get your bass, you will need to take it in for a professional setup. Once this is done, you will have an amazing instrument. Also, the bass case is solid, but awkward to carry. Either look into a gig bag / soft case (Gator makes one) or install a shoulder strap on the included case. I'm still giving this bass Five Stars, because once the setup is done, it is the best sounding, easiest playing acoustic bass guitar I've owned.

Comments about Fender California Series Kingman SCE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Bass:

Using in beginning Bass Guitar. Has some stiffness in the strings that came with it but replacing them with higher quality strings should fix that. On board tuner is great, just don't forget to turn it off, no auto off.
