The Fender American Ultra Series Stratocaster HSS is designed for players who want the most advanced, highest performance Strat ever made. The team spent over two years on intense R&D, analyzing and improving everything on this new flagship line. Made in America in Corona, California, the American Ultra Strat HSS features new noiseless pickups, including a re-voiced Double Tap humbucker, advanced electronics, tapered heel and body contours, an upgraded neck shape, a maple fretboard with rolled edges and new stage-ready finishes. It all adds up to a Stratocaster you’ll never part with. But don’t let these modern updates fool you. The vibe of the American Ultra Stratocaster HSS is still classic Fender.

Ultra Noiseless pickups

Fender first went noiseless back in 1998; the American Ultra Stratocaster HSS features the 5th generation of these pickups, with decades of refinement behind them. Loaded in the neck and middle positions, they produce classic, single-coil tones with zero noise and hum

The Stratocaster HSS also comes with an overwound, noiseless Double Tap bridge humbucker, matching the volume between pickups in coil-split mode.

S-1 switch on American Ultra Strat HSS offers multiple tones

Advanced electronics

An S-1 switch is nested in to the volume knob, which splits the humbucker into a single-coil, but adds extra winds for a hotter single-coil sound. A treble bleed circuit maintains the highs even when you're dimed out.

New neck heel

A first for Fender, the American Ultra’s sculpted neck heel allows for effortless access to the upper frets. It’s a significant reduction in bulk at the base of the neck, super thin but structurally sound with maximum resonance.

Ultra Stratocaster HSS D-profile comfortable neck shape

New neck shape

The American Ultra HSS neck has a modern-D profile. It’s flatter than a standard-D, with a faster back and a little more “meat” on the shoulders. Fender created an all-new process to apply a thin coast of satin urethane, giving the neck a completely smooth, raw wood feel. Your hands won’t stick here. The maple fretboard has rolled edges for added comfort.
