Introducing The American Ultra Series | Fender
Description
The Fender American Ultra Series Precision Bass is designed for players who want the most advanced, highest performance Precision Bass ever made. The team spent over two years on intense R&D, analyzing and improving everything on this new flagship line. Made in America in Corona, California, the American Ultra P Bass features new noiseless pickups, advanced electronics, tapered heel and body contours, a redesigned neck profile, a rosewood fretboard with rolled edges and new stage-ready finishes. It all adds up to a Precision Bass you’ll never part with. But don’t let these modern updates fool you. The vibe of the American Ultra Series Precision Bass is still classic Fender.

Ultra noiseless pickups
The American Ultra is loaded with an Ultra Jazz Bass pickup in the bridge and an Ultra Precision Bass pickup in the middle. They deliver a powerful, punchy tone with zero noise and hum.

Advanced electronics
The pickups can be further colored with an active/passive preamp, featuring new, re-voiced EQ points. The other controls on the American Ultra Precision Bass are also ultra-modern. Pickup selects are made with a pan pot. Explore more tonal possibilities with boost/cut switches for bass, midrange and treble.

New neck heel
A first for Fender, the American Ultra’s sculpted neck heel allows for effortless access to the upper frets. It’s a significant reduction in bulk at the base of the neck, super thin but structurally sound with maximum resonance.
(maple fretboard pictured)
The American Ultra P Bass neck has a modern-D profile. It’s flatter than a standard-D, with a faster back and a little more “meat” on the shoulders. Fender created an all-new process to apply a thin coast of satin urethane, giving the neck a completely smooth, raw wood feel. Your hands won’t stick here.

excellent choice for vintage and modern P-bass sound, feel

I was looking for the classic P-bass sound and feel and this instrument delivers. It's a solid 10lbs but the balance is excellent between neck and body. Both pickups are fully functional, which shouldn't have to be said, but there it is. You can solo bridge or neck, each with a vast range of tonal qualities in passive or active mode. The passive tone and active bass, treble, and mid provide so much room. I've been playing it for a month and have nothing but good things to say. Oh yeah, the tuning heads are a bit sticky, which means you have to apply a bit more force than expected and then it "gives". This is not really a problem, just an observation that they are not 100% smooth. It's nothing new with Fender tuning heads.
Very happy with this bass.

This is the best bass I have ever had my hands on. The balance is perfect, the D neck is so comfortable, the frets have no sharp edges. Tone wise, it covers everything. The feel is definitely Ultra. Workmanship is very good.

Okay - yeah this is the new ultra series. Playing through a TC750 w/Hartke 1000W cab. Purchased the Mocha Burst. Received the axe - out of the box it buzzed because it was detuned to D - tuned it up and haven't touched anything on it yet. I have about 20 hours on the thing and it's perfect for me. Gigged it, transported it, practice with it. ZERO complaints - It is a professional guitar
