Good Strings

These strings give you that great flatwound sound and feel. I put these on my Gibson SG bass, and they even fit a short scale fine. These are just as good as any other flatwound strings out there, but without the price.

You get what you pay for !!!

I tried these on my 1952 Precision (not a reissue, it has a 4 digit s/n on the bridge starting with 01**). I did not care for the feel of them. I pick with my thumb and fingers and I found them to be as lifeless as tapewounds and they even had a stickier feel than tapewounds. I did try playing them with a pick but it was still thud city. After a couple of weeks I put the D'Addario Half Rounds I took off back on the old girl and like magic I had great tone again. I realize they're inexpensive however, they made a bass that is a piece of history sound like junk.

I've been using rounds forever but wanted to try flats. These have pretty good brightness and are comfortable to play. I don't know if I'm going to switch from rounds on my other basses but so far I like this set.

  • Not quality strings for the price.

At the price for this set of strings, the life of the set is short lived.

Fender Flatwound Bass Strings are great and affordable compared to some other brands. They project a warm tone with an easy to play feel. Highly recommended.

Bought them to replace the strings that came on my bass. The first thing I observed after restringing was that the fret buzz on my A string stopped. I definitely like the greatly reduced finger noise and the feel is good. If you want to try flat-wounds, I recommend you try these.

Got them on sale and happy with the sound! Not worth spending extra on other brands. Definitely recommended if you are into flatwounds tone

Any idea of when these flatwound bass strings will be in stock? It's 8/24/22 and I have been waiting since about 7/1/22.
