Overview

This 1956 Stratocaster Relic Masterbuilt is a one-off from The Fender Custom Shop crafted by Master Builder Todd Krause.

The lightweight 2-tone sunburst ash body has been given a relic treatment to simulate the look of a guitar that's well-traveled and been heavily played over the years to with nicks, scratches, worn finish, heavy fingerboard wear, and aged plastic parts. The Handwound Fat 50's Strat single-coils with reverse-wound/reverse polarity middle pickup use the 5-way switch for hum canceling in the 2 and 4 positions. The 1-piece maple neck has 10/56 "V" back-shape, a slightly softer V introduced by Fender in October of 1956 (10/56).
