The Fender Custom Shop Limited-Edition Fat '50s Stratocaster Relic electric guitar is two steps in the past, one step in the present. It has a select alder body with "dirty finish checking," which normally takes decades to achieve naturally; fortunately, the Custom Shop conjures the same magic in far less time.
The one-piece rift-sawn maple neck sports a ’54 soft V-shaped profile, 9.5"-radius fingerboard and 21 jumbo (6100) frets. Hand-wound Fat ’50s single coils (with a reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup) produce thick, muscular tones. A 5-way switch gives you a vast array of sounds to explore.
Other features include an 11-hole parchment pickguard, Custom Shop vintage-style synchronized tremolo, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut and single wing string tree. This Custom Shop Strat comes with a deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.
