I have an Evans mute on all of my drums. They look just great and work very well. I practice and I'm still married.

In less than a month I put a hole in it. I have over 6 of them and each one is doing the same thing in different stages. I bought a set of prosound and they seem to be holding up but for my situation they don't muffle the drum enough. So I doubled up with the evans and prosound and I can still hear the drums and my town house neighbors don't. A bit expensive but worth it.

Does the drum and cymbal silencers rebound and respond to attack same as untreated heads
Rebound/Feel: Close, but not identical. The SoundOff mutes are made from a soft, rubbery material that absorbs more energy than a regular drumhead. As a result, the stick rebound is softer and slightly slower. You won’t get the same level of responsiveness or dynamic nuance that you'd get from a standard head, especially for intricate playing. Attack/Articulation: The attack is very muted—which is the point. You're not going to hear the same crack or articulation detail as on untreated heads. This can make it feel a bit more like a pad than a drum.
